The multitude of the business organizations that have been operating in a global market
tend to use a number of tools in order to analyze a certain market for the purpose of expansion.
The creation of the global strategies for a company includes majorly an analysis on the internal
as well as the external factors that are present within the international market. The following
paper attempts a discussion on the uses of the Porter’s Five Forces model analysis and the
SWOT Analysis that might help in the overall improvement of the operations and the
competitive advantage within the concern ed global market. This would help Deborah in taking a
better decision with the help of the required data and the statistics.
The SWOT Analysis is one of the most commonly used tools that are used to analyze the
internal environment of any business organization. The SWOT Analysis is a major framework
that is used to analyze the strengths, the weaknesses, the opportunities and the treats that were
faced by the concerned company in discussion. The SWOT Analysis is considered to be a
foundational model in the assessment of the activities that the given organization might or might
not perform (Phadermrod, Crowder & Wills, 2019). The model further discusses the
opportunities that are presented to the company in a certain given market and the threats that
might be held responsible for the obstacles in gaining success. The SWOT Analysis helps the
company to analyze both the internal as well as the external factors that promote or pose to be a
hindrance in the achievement of the organizational success. The SWOT Analysis further helps
the concerned organization to identify the factors that provide assistance towards the
achievement of the organizational success and thus helps the company to put more emphasis on
these factors (Leiber, Stensaker & Harvey, 2018). The SWOT Analysis also points out the major
areas that might prove to be a hindrance in the achievement of the goals set by the concerned
management of the organization. This helps the company to identify as well as work on the

issues that are presented by the internal factors of the organization and thereby move towards the
betterment of the operations within the organization. The SWOT Analysis also shed light on
some if the external issues that affect the organizational success. The analysis discusses the
various opportunities that might help the company to achieve a better competitive advantage in
the given market (Ramkumar, Schoenherr & Jenamani, 2016). The SWOT Analysis further
discusses the threats that might hamper the progress of the company and needs to be attended to
in a proper manner.
The Porter’s Five Forces analysis, on the other hand helps the company to outline the
obstacles that the company might face due to the competition within the chosen market of
expansion. The Porter’s Five Forces analysis helps majorly in the discussion on the issues of the
competition existent within the given market as well as the barriers that the concerned business
organization might face due to the issues of the suppliers and the buyers and the threats from the
new entrants and the substitution by the other organizations that operate within the same industry
(Khan, Alam & Alam, 2015). This analysis would help Deborah in understanding the issues that
are faced by the concerned organization due to the presence of the lesser number of the suppliers
as well as the higher number of competitors within the chosen global market of expansion. The
revenue and the sales of the concerned company is majorly affected by the presence of the
several number of the competitors within the given market (Kolios, Read & Ioannou, 2016). The
quality and the acceptance of the similar products within the host country chosen for the
expansion might affect the revenues that are collected by the company in discussion and might
also affect the position that is achieved by the concerned company in the given market (Takata,
2016). The operations of the company are also affected by the presence of the required number
of the vendors within the host country.
