3STRATEGIC PLAN FOR INFORMATION MANAGEMENT Introduction The aim of the report is to evaluate the strategic plan as it has been issued by the government of Canada in respect of how to manage the information and its relevance in respect of the information technology. The concern of the plan is issues like expectations of the citizens, which has extended over to discuss the privacy and security oh handling such information. On the basis of the principles, the Government has adopted four strategic goals which includes service, security, value and agility. The scope of the report will be to conduct a critical evaluation. Service as a strategic goal The environment of Information technology as well as its management is aimed at providing an integrated service to the Canadians where the programs will be centered at the client. Under the scope of the plan the architecture as well as the plan needs to be aligned along the line from where the government would be looked at as a single organization. The simplified nature of the service ensures the effectiveness of it as well as decrease the burden from the workers (Brownlee, 2015). The scope of the approach has been broadened along the line of the enterprise in order to ensure the service of IM-IT (Somerville, 2015). The strategy also brings about the technologies that are on the emerging side in order to ensure the efficient delivery of the services like artificial intelligence(canada.ca., 2017). Security as a strategic plan The strategy is aimed at creating a secured enterprise in order to protect the data and the information (canada.ca., 2017). Such security allows the delivery to be secured and the protection of the information via the infrastructure to be ensured. The primary aim of the strategy is to ensure the security of the information transmitted and delivered in order to diminish the risk in the course of the transition. Security also enhances the management of the network in the government. The scope of the strategy exceeds beyond the areas discussed and includes the protection of the personal information along with broadening the awareness about the security in the cyber world (Chang & Gupta, 2015). Agility as a strategic goal This strategy aims at enhancing the high performing capability along with the use of the modernized tools. Such strategies have been framed in order to retain the skilled IM-IT professionals (canada.ca., 2017). The scope of the strategy can also be extended in order to provide a workplace marked by technological advancement where mobility is supported.

Conclusion The strategic actions adopted under IM-IT was aimed at covering a wide array of services, where the area of concern extended from operating the requirement to the initiatives -taken strategically. The emphasis has been placed for the year 2018-2019. The strategies were aimed at creating and affirming framework that would allow the GC to become more open in its approach as well as operate in a way to make the program a bit more service oriented in its approach.
