The chosen project for the study is High Speed one (HS1) which was completed in 2007 for a need to improve Britain's railway access to channel tunnel link. Communication plays a very important role in the success of a project, though it was very challenging but stakeholders must communicate from a beginning to evaluation. The relevance of communication planning in HS1 project was crucial as it involved a large number of stakeholders and team members. Effective communication modes such as Skype, email, instant messages, face-to-face meetings, and weekly all-staff meetings were used to share necessary information. However, cultural differences within the team were identified as a common barrier that affected communication negatively. Visual representation was recommended to overcome such issues and help people understand the project and its direction. Conflicts were also identified as a challenge that affected productivity and caused missed deadlines. Recommendations were provided to overcome such challenges and understand the importance of communication in project management.
