1. Introduction and Objectives of the Project Plan
1.1 Overview of the Organisation
Woolworths is a supermarket chain business that primarily operates in various parts in
Australia. Woolworths is one of the most successful supermarket chains in the whole world and
specifically the largest chain in Australia.
1.2 Current Situation and Problem / Opportunity Statement
Woolworths has always applied updated technology for enhancing their business
operations and performance. Now, the company wants to solve the problem of large queues and
delayed payment processes in the stores and is looking to develop a mobile application that will
enable the customers to just grab the products from the store and leave without standing in long
queues for the payment purposes. This will be achieved using high level machine learning
techniques on computer AI and will be integrated with the mobile application.
2. Project Charter
2.1 Project Information
The project involves the development of a mobile application that will be used by the
customers to check in to the retail store and walk away with the products of their choice without
standing in the queue for making payments.
2.2 Project Objectives
The objectives of the project are as follows.

To implement the computer vision deep learning algorithms to develop an AI
capable of developing virtual cart for the customers within the store
To develop a mobile application that will help the customers to simply check in to
the store for purchasing products
2.3 Project Approach
For this project, agile methodology will be utilized in order to develop the mobile
application for checking in to the store.
2.4 Roles and Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities of the project stakeholders are as follows.

2.5 Project Constraints
One major constraint for the project is that it is an entirely new technology and will
require considerable amount of funding especially since agile methodology is used. Another

constraint is that the technology is not yet tested and tried and hence, unnecessary issues may
arise during the project.
2.6 Assumptions
It has been assumed that the project can be completed within the time as per the given
