Strategies recommendation report 2IntroductionThis is a report discussing the strategies adopted by the company- ‘Alibaba’ which made it capture the whole market of China, and the strategies which have currently led the company to a failure in the international markets. We have also discussed the challenges that the company faced in the path of sustainable growth of its business. And through this report, we have made certain recommendations with regards to the changes that are needed to be made in its present strategies and also on the new strategies that it should follow to sustain until 2027.Growth strategies adopted by the company so far After capturing the rural markets of China, the company tried to increase its market share in first-tier cities by online selling of groceries as well as consumer electronics in Beijing by using the city as a gateway to reach around 400 million people in northern China. Besides this, the company promoted its e-commerce activities among the rural Chinese residents as well as on the global level through its international e-commerce websites (Nwogugu, 2015). Besides these, the company also built a channel by the name of Alibaba’s Tmall Global, which is a cross-border shopping solution to provide the Western merchants a channel for selling their products online inChina, and also created g.taobao.com, a niche channel in the company’s giant Taobao Marketplace helping consumers in discovering quality products brought to them from all over the world.Currently, Alibaba is pursuing a two-part approach to foreign expansion.
