Introduction:The current assignment will refer to the functions of a healthcare manager in the mentalhealth sphere of practice. The assignment also describes the differences between the variousstructures of an organisation and their advantages and disadvantages. The assignment alsofocuses on the impact of organisational structure on organisational culture. Here, the WestBerkshire Community Hospital’s hierarchical structure will be compared with the Age UKmental health care hospital’s divisional structure. Here in this essay, two main structures ofthe organisation will be studied. Namely, Hierarchical structure and Divisional structure. Theassignment is focussing on the impact of combining the two structures and their functions onthe healthcare environment. Scene 1: Role of a Healthcare Manager in Mental Health Sphere:A healthcare manager mainly manages the health care hospital and the resources, funds andother responsibilities associated with healthcare (Fanelli, Pratici and Zangrandi, 2021). Theyhave day to day responsibilities along with various tasks that relate to patient handling,business handling and many more. Some of the general tasks of healthcare managers are- Care Coordinate- The healthcare managers handle the patients and sometimesmaintain the task schedules for other healthcare providers. Finance Management- Healthcare providers sometimes also work for the financedepartment and handle the cost and discuss with others how to get the profit byproviding more quality services. Health Management- Healthcare managers often are responsible to keep the data ofthe patients safe in the digitalized way or manually. Also, they provide information tothe patients and solve the queries of the patients.Policy Management- Healthcare providers also manage the policies of health,mediclaims and other healthcare benefits of the patients and act accordingly. Not onlythis the healthcare managers also help in making various legal procedures for differentcritical cases and handle various health insurance policies. Human Resource Management- The healthcare managers often act as a humanresource manager to form a team and work with it and also they provide varioustraining to other personnel to perform efficiently (Boon, Den Hartog and Lepak,

Namely-Managing the Change- In the fast-changing world dealing with the changes is very muchimportant as it ensures development. In this digitalized age the healthcare managers deal withvarious technologies that help in collecting the data and secure it in a database with the helpof technology (Jayatilleke and Lai, 2018). The healthcare manager needs to be a technicalperson who can handle these things and with training and time, they are developing variousprocesses to collect the data which helps the patients as well as the hospital authority to keepthe past records of the patients and their problems. This also helps the doctors to treat thepatients properly.Leading the Team- The healthcare managers often help in leading the team and act as aleader by providing the scheduling charts for the other personnel in the hospital as well asmaintain the schedules of other personnel. The healthcare managers often form a team or helpin building the team to handle a particular task and hand over the responsibilities. Thehealthcare managers often act as a leader and provide training to other personnel to improvetheir work (Boon, Den Hartog and Lepak, 2019). The healthcare managers work insupervising the various tasks happening in the hospital to ensure high-quality services andenhance the quality of the performances of other personnel.
