ABOUT THIS TASK:
This task is an outline of Assessment 3 (Individual Research Essay). The Outline is due in Week 7 and
the essay is due in Week 8.
WHY DO AN OUTLINE?
The aim of this outline to is to get you to start thinking about your essays EARLY and to give you an
opportunity to (a) work out whether you are on the right track and (b) correct any serious errors
before submitting your essay in Week 8.
WHEN IS IT DUE?
Night before your WEEK 7 class
EXAMPLE: In WK 7, Sydney has class on Monday, 29 April… so the Sydney Outlines are due no later
than 00:00am on Sunday 28 April 2019).
HOW TO SUBMIT THE OUTLINE:
Outlines must be submitted in Word format through Turnitin AND you must bring a printed copy to
class in Week 7.
NOTE: It is your responsibility to ensure you submit the outline to the correct link. If you are unsure,
ask your lecturer. The link is called: “ESSAY OUTLINES”
HOW THE OUTLINE IS MARKED:
Outlines will be marked in class (Week 7 tutorial time), and form part of CP marks. Lecturers will
move between the groups and carry out a brief discussion with each student about their outline. CP

You are not locked in to the answers you provide in your outline. To be clear, if you tell me you plan
to come to a conclusion that the sky is blue, you are allowed to change your mind and tell me that
the sky is sometimes grey when you write your final essay.
