Professional Issues Assignment Introduction
1. Introduction
Ethical and legal considerations are considered to be one of the major
aspects for the business organisations in order to deal with the practice of
making a sustainable business practice. As the research of Kurucz et al.
(2017) argued that for a sustainable business practice it is important for the
business organisation to establish a good image in the highly competitive
market. Moreover, the future business orientation is also associated with
following a sustainable business perspective. Therefore, it can be stated that
ethical business practice is considered to be an important aspect for the
corporate organisations to retain their business effectively. As a matter of fact,
the government regulations and legal factors are also contributed to this
extensively. Taylor-Bianco et al. (2017) opined that it is important for the
organisations to set up their business activities on the basis of the
international and national framework. Personal image and behaviour of an
individual is also associated with this that can facilitate further effectiveness in
the process of making a better organisational environment to follow. From the
research of Giacalone, Jurkiewicz and Promislo (2016) it can be articulated that
the individual aspects can contributed effectively to the business to business
to business relationship and the relationship with the clients as well. On the
contrary, Johnson et al. (2016) advocated that the relationship with the
colleagues and subordinates is also an pertinent aspect to maintain by the
managers and employees.
In this regard, this report aims to evaluate the events that were
occurred in Firestone Associates. For a better understanding, the report was
segregated into different parts such as legal, professional, personal and so
on. This elaboration and bifurcation of the issues can generate a concise and
to the point understanding different problems that Firestone Associates was
facing.

2. Analysis
2.1. Legal factors
There are a great number of legal factors that Firestone Associates was
facing in its business activities. First of all, it can be articulated that the
organisation did a shadow job by keeping the clients in dark but sharing
their personal information with other companies. This was a clear
violation of the Australian government regulation on keep doing
business with the customer information. In case of Firestone
Associates, the organisation deals with the same by misguiding the
clients by stating that there name would be registered for a contest.
2.2. Professional factors
The professional factors were related to the lacking the informed
consent from the customers. From the research of Gooris and Peeters
(2016) it can be stated that the role of the organisations in sharing
business information has to get a consent from the individuals whose
personal information has been shared. It can be stated that the role of
Firestone Associates in this regard was totally unprofessional and the
organisation did not care to make a formal consent of the customers.
On the other hand, the organisation tried to satisfy the customers by
stating them to participate in attractive contests.
Moreover, the professional factors can be seen in case of Alex when
he took the sensitive information of the organisation in his home. He
knew the sensitivity of the information and understood the importance
of keeping it confidential. However, in home there was always possible
threat that those information could be leaked. As a result of that it
seemed totally unprofessional from the end of Alex.
2.3. Employment and Social factors
The employment factor is identified in the form of the relationship
between the top executive of the organisation and the employees. In
the case, there was no problem in Firestone Associates regarding the
salary of the employees. All the employees got what was negotiated.
However, in case of appreciation and motivation there was lack of
practice within Firestone Associates and both the employees Alex and
Sophie was dissatisfied with the attitude of Richard, the head of the
company. In another seen the newly established company of Alex was
also alleged to exploit its employees by not giving the salary that they
should get. For the initial phase hiring some interns was good for the
new agency of Alex but gradually the avoidance of Alex not to give
salary to the employees even after a year was very disappointing and a
clear act of exploitation.
