Mills can criticize Kant on several grounds that would involve conflicts among
principles. Kantian ethics is specifically focused on moral principles however, it ignores morale
behavior. The term universal laws can have several possibilities of conflicting and practical
effects. Also, the Kantian system does not provide accurate moral answers to moral quandaries
(George 39).
In response, Kant can elaborate on the exact meaning of his theory and breaking it up into
systematic parts. Any action that tends to produce the reverse of happiness is morally wrong. On
the other hand, according to Kant’s categorical imperative morality is meant to guide our actions,
it is universal and same for everyone. The two major formulations of categorical imperative
dominate the concept. One, it is the formulation of the universal law that states, act only in
harmony with that maxim by which one can in the meantime that it becomes a universal law.
Two, formulation of from humanity that states treating others as mere means however always as
an end in themselves.
Also, Kant can respond to questing Mill’s theory too. According to Mill’s utilitarianism,
actions can be called right if they tend to tend to produce happiness for the greatest number of
