The modernization has led to the evolution of different media items, which impacts the
people based on their age and their mentality (Strasburger, Jordan & Donnerstein, 2012). The
different structures of the society and the mental setup are the determining factors as to how and
to what extent the media affects the personality of an individual. The basic idea of the media is to
generate awareness among the masses on the basis of the impact that is being created by the
media on the minds of the people. The usage of the media by the youth can bring out the risk
factors in shaping the psychological backdrop of the individuals. Exposure of the youth to the
media is an important factor that must be monitored by the guardians in order to ensure that the
individual’s psychological developments and the development of the ethics are not compromised
(Buckingham & Willett, 2013). In simpler words, the involvement of the youth in the media
should be based on the proper choice of the media thereby acknowledging the explicit materials
and keeping the youth away from those.
Media is supposed to be a device for creating general awareness. Although it has its ill
effects too, but largely there are certain positive impacts that must be considered while
discussing on the point of importance of the media and the impact that it has got on the age. The
media helps in keeping the individuals well informed and therefore helps in maintaining the
literacy rate by imparting the proper procedures that must be undertaken for the educating
purpose (Greenfield, 2014). The choice of the correct form of media and the context is a
consideration that must be undertaken in order to understand the extent of the impacts of the
media on the age. Therefore, media

“A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. So is a lot”- the great scientist Albert Einstein,
through this quote meant that individuals who have a limited amount of knowledge about a
task must leave the task to be executed by the experts. Moreover, a little knowledge of a
certain object is harmful as it includes vague imaginations and self-opinions that might not
correlate to the object (Fuchs et al., 2013). The basic psychological aspects of the human
beings portrays that they undertake actions in order to justify their sense of understanding.
They justify their sense of understanding through the assumptions they take.
On the other hand, a vast knowledge can be harmful too. The person can go to any extent
in order to undertake steps and decisions that the person finds to be correlating to the
individual’s sense of judgement. The perfectionist with the best knowledge of what the object
seems to be is more reluctant to go to its abstract end, which at times might be dangerous but
also luring for the person.
Media helps in making the people aware of the changes. The various kinds of changes,
both tangible and intangible, is being noticed by the media and is transmitted to the people in
order to make them aware of then changes in the environment. Creating awareness and the
generating knowledge is an important criterion that is being undertaken by the media. In this
context, the media plays an important role in shaping the mental structure of the people by
making them aware of the changes (Globalnews.ca, 2017). However media manipulates the
scoops according to their own policies and therefore there might be miscommunications
which might lead to a falsified situation which is based on the lower rate of knowledge.
Again, the manipulation of the news articles is highly affecting the people with a very good
knowledge on the subject therefore transforming their minds off the sets of the media.

Social media is a platform where people from far and distant lands come together in order
to exchange views and opinions. It is helpful in keeping the people aware as to the changes that
are being undertaken in the environment and also the changing trends and habits of the people
around. Social media brings together the society and shares the general platform where people
can make a note of the issues- political, social or socio-cultural, in order to adapt to the changes
in the society. In that aspect social media brings in the society for its functioning and therefore it
is social. The risks that are being faced by the people using the social media is based on the
publicity of their personal life. The secrets can be compromised. The advancements of the
technology have brought about changes in the structure of the social media. The advancements
have made social media vulnerable; therefore, personal information might be hacked.
The aspects that help in understanding the importance of the social media in integrating
the society is being challenged by the aspect that the personal information being shared through
the social media might get compromised (Fuchs et al., 2013). The era of information technology
have perceived various changes that are being brought about in order to meet the expectations of
the people and to support their general right to achieve information. Social media plays an
important role in making use of the information and sharing the information with the people, but
the risk that is involved with the usage of the social media is vast, depending on the type of
usage.

The progress of technology have facilitated many changes in the society to prohibit crime
from happening. Usage of surveillance cameras in this modern era is an important innovation
that helps in detecting a crime. Moreover, the usage of the surveillance cameras is an important
aspect that helps in the evidencing part. Surveillance is being undertaken with the view of the
safety of the citizens and in order to detect the type and the quality of the crime ( Fuchs et al.,
2013). Therefore, no protests or complaints are being suited against it. However, in certain cases
there is an exception like the installation of the CCTV cameras in certain private places which
might disrupt the general flow of the community is being protested.
The question of the safety and security, being watched all the time, is an important
consideration that must be undertaken when the effectiveness of the method is being judged. The
most important thing that affects the safety and the security of using the surveillance methods
depends on the person monitoring over the surveillance cameras. The mentality and the
psychology of the individual are the determining factors of the risk that is being involved in the
surveillance (Globalnews.ca, 2017). The ill mentality and the pervert mindset of the individual
might harm the privacy of the others or the community at large. Therefore, apart from the fact
that the surveillance method helps in ensuring the safety and the security of the people at large, it
also has certain disadvantages that must be revised before undertaking such methods.

The surveillance methods help in keeping a track of the activities-either legal or illegal
and thereby presenting a detailed evidence of the job that is being undertaken. It helps in
reducing the crime rate and thereby helps in maintaining the safety and the security of the

people. Only the installation of the cameras would not help in undertaking an effective
surveillance. It requires a person to taker care of the requirements in order to make the
surveillance more effective through the careful monitoring of the subjects for which the
surveillance is being undertaken (Cerezo, 2013). Well, to tell the truth, the surveillance methods
can be harsh at times, as the innocents might not support it as they are also being portrayed in the
surveillance. Objections might be faced by the committees that install the surveillance cameras in
order to make sure of the safety quotient of the communities whereas the communities
themselves oppose the use of the surveillance cameras.
At times, the use of the surveillance methods that is being undertaken through the
installation of the cameras might be useful for the community but there is a risk involved with
the use of the surveillance cameras and the whole time monitoring of the events (Goold, Loader
& Thumala, 2013). Therefore, the communities often object the use of the cameras depending on
the risk and the liability it holds.

Ignorance is bliss especially considering the fact that the ignorance brings in freedom of
mind and a question that solves the solution to the problem through the usage of the intellect.
Ignorance, in basic terms, can be considered as the phenomenon where the person is devoid of
the systems that are required to be undertaken in order to take a decision (Globalnews.ca, 2017).
Ignorance helps in making the people work without the fear of the bindings that are supposed to
limit their activities. The basic credentials of being ignorant about a situation or a social system
is that the individuals can implement their own intellect. However, in certain conditions the

ignorance can be equally harmful as for the certain sections the impact of ignorance can be huge
in formulating the structure of the society.

The internet is perhaps the form of media that has the most sway in this modernized
world. The only reason is because of the fact that news and articles that are both informative and
persuasive can be found in the internet (Edsurge.com., 2017). The most important function of
media is to understand the requirements of the people and thereby generate awareness among the
society. The internet supports the various sources through which people gains information on the
go (Holtshouse, 2013). Moreover, with the mobility of the information and the progression in the
technology, internet has faced a steep growth in regards to the usage that is being undertaken by
the users. In this era of information technology, the media plays an important role in transmitting
the required and the desired information to the people. The discussed media plays an important
role, considering the evolution with the changing requirements of the people. The involvement of
the printed media in making the basic outcomes is being undertaken by the internet sources
thereby making the people aware as to the requirements of the client.

The mass media plays an important role in serving the purpose of the information
technology in keeping the mass aware of the changes that is being occurring in the environment.
The basis of the change and the probable cause are being given out by the mass media. It covers
the situations relating to an epidemic, a political scenario, or an event. Hence the mass media
aims at making the people aware of the situation and define the cause as to why the situation did
arise (Galegher, Kraut & Egido, 2014). Therefore, the mass media plays an important role in

keeping the people aware of the different kinds of change that is being faced by the society. It
aims at giving out reports that concerns the mass audience and therefore it covers the reports
that might win over the attention of the mass.
The politics, in the modern day is the most impacted by the mass media outlets as it is
considered that the mass media controls the political structure of the nation (Edsurge.com.,
2017). It is also considered that the mass media makes the politicians take decisions in favor of
the people. The mass media plays an important role in bringing out the grievances of the people
towards the political system, thereby helping the political systems to improve with the feedback

Geiger, 2012). Therefore, it can be said that the political scenario, in the modern day is being
impacted heavily through the usage and the processes that si being taken by the mass media.
