Study of Super Human Figures in Mughal Art: Angels and Fairies in the Lahore Fort

This research paper explores the presence of superhuman figures, specifically angels and fairies, in Mughal art, focusing on the reign of Akbar, Jahangir, and Shahjahan. It examines the influence of European art on Mughal painting, particularly the depiction of angels in the vault of Kala Burj at the Lahore Fort. The paper analyzes the Solomonic iconography present in the paintings, highlighting Jahangir's fascination with the mythology of King Solomon and his association with the ruler of the seen and unseen world.
