INTRODUCTION Higher education is important part of student life where student learn different kind of skills and ability to perform in future career(Assiter, 2017). In this current report, there is discussion on question about taking notes and significance of different stages from the case study related to before lecture, during lecture and after the lecture. There is also a discussion about the essential features which are required in an academic life which can be adopted by a student for preparation of notes. MAIN BODY Discussthe importance of taking notes and the significance of the stagesmentioned in the article above: before, during and after There is different kind of techniques mentioned in case study which shows that individual can easily maintain class notes. Some of the importance from the case studies related to maintenance of notes by a student before each class, during class and after class is mentioned below: Keep studentalert: Preparing short notes and note taking help us students in being alert within the lecture as well as increase their participation by easily understanding the information delivered by lecturer. Also help in removing the distractions and for the topic which going within the lecture(Barrable, Papadatou-Pastou and Tzotzoli, 2018). Engage mind:Note taking by a student will also help them in listening carefully and deciding what to include in notes by keeping their mind active at the time of lecture. In mentioned case study, it is seen that there are various functions like studying before, switch off mobile phone and many more things which are related to engaging the mind and reducing the disturbing elements. Help in organising information: Taking notes also help student in highlighting the hearings identifying the structure as well as collecting different kind of information in an organised form. This help organisation in achieving its objectives as well as understanding different factors related to classroom learning by making organised note. Creates a condensed record for study:One more importance of note keeping is that it helps students in keeping up-to date record of each class lecture and use it according to requirement in future. This will reduce burden and help in studding regularly by maintains of condensedrecord(Lim, 2020). Significance of stages mentioned in case study Before each class: There is various significance of the stages mentioned in case study, this stage helps in development of concept related to note keeping before class where student can identify various concept before class and can use these concept so that they can develop the understanding about topic and developing insight about the topic which can be uses in the
class. This help in identification of further steps involve in process of note keeping and achieving objective of university course. Middle of the class: The major significance of following the procedure of recording notes during the class is that writing the date and page number help in identification of the lecture as well as dealing the problem device so that individual can achieve perfection while performing the academic course and studying that particular course within university(Cottrell, 2019). This will also help in reducing the time taken within the note making and help in achieving a good vocabulary and learning skills. After class Significance of following the procedure mentioned in case study after the class for recording the note will help the individual in comparing the notes and checking the accuracy with other individuals so that it can discuss the particular point and can achieve specialisation and effective learning techniques. This will always help in sharpening the concept. It will also help in summarising and identifying the main phrases which are used in the class and the main points which has to be considered along withthe problems which has to be discussed by the teacher after the completion of class. Note taking is an essential feature of academic life. Identify and evaluate some of the different methods students canuse to take notes. There are various methods of note keeping which can be adopted by the student’s skills of note keeping as and achieving their goals related to the academic session. List: Preparing the list is the best method which can be adopted by a student to formulate a different kind of notes while pursuing a graduation program or academic course. Under this system the topic summarise according to the one point after the another player using the numbers, letters and symbols so that the information can be identified and organised in a particular week for using it in near future. The number and letter can used by themselves or in combination so that individual can easily understand the information and then use the information for future period by eliminating the chances of confusion(Rozakis, 2018). Diagram: Diagram is the best way to particular information in an appropriate manner. Under this system ER diagram of information shows how the main Idea other related and reflected to the information which is organised by the individual and recorded in short notes. Different kind of diagrams like flowcharts, tree diagrams, mind map. Student can also use circles, arrows, lines in boxes to represent different items within their notes which will help them and identification of key points. The system also helps the student in recognising the information period of time. Handwritten: One of the methods for keeping the notes is using handwritten notes.
