INTRODUCTION
For student it is important to make note so that it can be easy for them to learn and understand it
easily. Besides that, through notes they are able to remember it as well for long time. if there are
not proper notes it becomes difficult to understand and learn. Also, it creates a lot of confusion
among student as there are many topics to learn. So, notes provide clarity as well to them. there
are various methods of note taking. It depends on student (Luo, and et.al., 2018).
MAIN BODY
There were two main reasons that why note taking plays a significance role in a student’s
life. As when a student read, write or listen ,taking notes aids them to concentrate. Notes taking
means to write something which is more sensible. Notes aids someone to maintain the
permanent record of what they have listened, read or learned.

Preview to take good notes within class mention below are some of the steps that can improves
note taking before class even starts
Preview reading assignments or text earlier to class as previewing enables a student to
recognizes main ideas as well as concepts that will discusses most during the class.
Take a look into course syllabus so that a student can know about topics as well as what’s going
on during the lecture to be more vital to focus on.

Teacher is having a vital role in it. they need to make student understand lectures. But in online
way it has become difficult for them. there has to be a two way communication as students must
listen properly and teacher communicate. moreover, it require student to listen carefully to
lecture. The understand ability of them depends on their listening ability. Here, it will be descried
about how student can improve listening ability and ways teacher help understand lecture
(Ciğerci, and Gultekin, 2017).
ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION
Evaluate some strategies that students can use to improve their listening ability.
In recent time pandemic there has been change in education system. Now lecture are
given online on various application and software. So, all classes are being conducted online.
Thus, it is necessary for students to listen carefully those lectures. This is because in online
class there must be a proper two way communication. It means students should listen properly
and also teacher must communicate to them. it is necessary to listen carefully because entire
understanding of lecture depends on listening ability. If lecture is not listened properly it may
led to misunderstood of lecture and student might not learn from it. besides that there are several
disturbing elements as well such as network error, internet speed, etc. due to which listening
clarity is affected. Thus, in order to enhance listening ability there are several strategies available
for it. they are described as
Asking questions- this is best strategy which student can use to enhance listening ability. Here,
they can ask direct questions to teacher if they are not able to listen properly. Moreover, by
asking question it becomes easy for them to understand what is being taught. Alongside, student
get clarity about what teacher has taught. Asking question will enable tutor to teach again if
student has not listened it properly. So, in this way student can enhance their listening ability.
Maintain eye contact- here student can maintain eye contact with tutor that what he or she is
teaching. In this way it helps in having a proper two way communication with them. This will
also enable student to listen carefully to words of tutor that what it is trying to say. Therefore,
this makes it simple for student to concentrate on lecture (Reddrop, and Mapunda, 2019).
They can also ask questions as well if they do not understand what teacher is saying. The

ability can be improved.
Listen to words- the student should listen to words of tutor rather than action. With that it can be
summarized and picture is created that what teacher is saying. In addition, student should focus

student must emphasis on key words, phrases, etc and try to remember it. this will make them
easy to remind what tutor taught. In this way listening ability is improved.
Making notes- it is also an effective strategy which student can used to enhance listening skills.
in that they can make or prepare some notes based on lectures or topic taught. Thus, it is easy
way to remind that is being taught when they do revision with teacher during lecture. However,
preparing notes allow them to correct their mistakes if they have listened wrong (Sejdiu, 2017).
Giving task which involves active listening, teachers should give such task to students which
involve and require active listening of the students. This is one of the important tasks because
when teachers give to students they require listening carefully in order to complete the task. This
will contribute in listening and will extend to concentration of the students about what is being
said. This is one of the effective strategies to improve listening ability of the students. This also
is able to maintain attention and concentration of the students for the longer time. this gives
clarity to student about their listening skills and if they need improvement or not. They are able
to evaluate their skills in effective way.

Tutor play vital role in giving lecture to students and making them understand. It is
important for teacher to make them understand concepts and theories. If student does not
understood lecture then there is no use of giving it. they must learn something from lectures.
However, when student is having doubt they ask question regarding it. however there are certain
ways which can be followed by teacher through which it can help student to understand it in
better way. They are discussed as
Preparation of notes- this is best way through which student can understand lecture. Here,
teacher can prepare notes and give to them. it can be prepared topic wise which will give clarity
to them regarding it. besides that, student will be able to learn from notes and understood it
easily. This also enable student to remember topic easily. Alongside, with notes they can prepare
sub notes as well according to their ability and understanding.

Taking regular test- here tutor can take regular tests on different topics which is being taught.
Through that they will be able to find out learning ability of student that how much they have
understood lecture. Also, student will ask questions regarding what they have not understood.
So, it will give insight to teacher regarding understand ability of student. So, in future teacher
can do revision of same lecture and make student understood it (Tanaka, and et.al., 2018).
Doing revision - it is recommendation which can be followed by teacher. They can do revision
of lecture once or twice. Also, any particular topic or concept revision can be done if student has
not properly understood. In this way student will get more clarity about topic and understand it in
effective way.
Giving example- the teacher can give examples as much as they can in order to make student
understand about topic or concept in lecture. By giving example it becomes easy for student to
learn and understand it. they are able to remember that thing for long time in their memory. In
this teacher can provide case study, show video, etc to them about it. also, it is found that by
giving example student understand it in better way.
Asking questions- the teacher can ask different questions to student regarding lecture topic or
subject. This gives idea to tutor that to what extent student has understood. Then, they can
solve student problem by explaining to them in easier way. This also benefit student as they are
able to learn it more quickly. When questions are asked it becomes easy to remove confusion of
student.
Use of data and graphs - the teacher can use data and graphs to teach student. They can show
to them about topic or concept. In this way it gives a clear image into mind of student and they
are able to understand it easily (Ciğerci, and Gultekin, 2017).
Solving student problem- teacher can solve students problem if they are in doubt. It can be done
one by one and answer to all doubts is given again and again until students is clear with doubt.
Hence, these are some ways which teacher can use in order to make student understand
the lecture in better way. There are many things in as well which needs to be consider as type of
lecture. By that it will be easy for teacher to select way and apply it.

relate concept with some other thing to make it easy for student to understand. In this they can
provide their own hand made notes to them. Through that it becomes easy to understand for
student about lecture.
Use of technology- they can take help of technology to teach student. This will make it easy and
clear for student to understand it in effective way.
