INTRODUCTION
There are several skills that are required by students in order to get best employment
opportunities in future circumstances. Higher education helps in developing and enhancing
existing skills and knowledge of students so that they can get their dream job in highly reputable
firm. Due to uncertain situation of Covid-19 most of the universities have started online teaching
by using one of the most common Zoom applications. This is essay that is based on importance
of making notes and different method that can be used by students for preparation of notes.
MAIN BODY- ESSAY
1 Importance of taking notes and each stages that are involved in notes making
Due to online classes through zoom application making notes have become essential part
to retained information for longer period of time. Students need to make notes or write important
points in rough copy so that they can be easily revised as per situation and requirements
(Mitchell, Sneath and Walker, 2019). There are several benefits of taking notes that can be
illustrated as follows:
Release stress level: There are lot many things or topics that are been taught by different
teachers in online class that create lot of confusion or cluster of information within mind.
Students after end of class normally get confused that lead to increase in stress level of individual
so notes it one of the best techniques that helps in reducing amount of stress among younger
generation. Thus, students an easily focus on present task rather than thinking what have been
taught by teachers in previous lecture or session.
Helps in learning long questions: Another importance of making notes is that individual by
writing down its steps or making small points either notes is able to easily remind and learned
that it have learned in previous class (Lee, 2019). Thus, it does not have to deeply grow through
about numerous session or books to know or study about specific topic for better knowledge and
skills.
Keep students active: It can be stated that taking notes helps students to stay active and listen to
the instruction that are given by lecturer so that no point could be miss. Thus students will try to
avoid extra activities or disturbance happening in home while online class and devote their time
to learn new skills for growth and success in future career.

Engage mind: Taking notes helps in engagement of mind of students or alter them to actively
listen in order to take decision about specific point that need to be write down for further uses in
future circumstances (Petersen, 2019).
It helps students to have deep and correct knowledge: Notes helps students to keep tracking
about topics that have been taught by lecturer at specific dates so that they can easily learned and
revised them for having expertise in specific field. Students by writing notes are able to know
what points are included in which topic so they just want a quick revision for using knowledge
and skills in practical life.
It is best medium to share knowledge with others: It can be illustrated that notes are best
medium or method that can be used to share knowledge or information related to one topic from
one student to another (Woelk and et.al., 2017). For examples: If any student due to family
emergency or any other serious reason was unable to attend class then notes written by its friend
can be helpful in providing knowledge about whatever topic have been taught by lecturer in
online class.
Significance of notes at different stages can be illustrated as:
Before class: Students need to be make notes before class as it helps them in better and deeply
understand of topic that would be teach by lecturer in next class. Thus, it contribute students to
prepared in advance by making notes about points that have understood and need to be clarified
lecturer.
During class: Notes are also important to be taken during class in order to record the main point
that has been taught by lecturer in online class. It also helps to record point that students have
missed while making notes before class. Therefore it contributes in adding various valuable
points that can be used by students for giving correct answer in examination.
After class: Some of the students have habit to make notes after class thus it helps them to
compare notes of there and their friends in order to right point that have been missed (Cellucci,
Peters and Young, 2018). After class notes helps students to summarise notes and learn specific
things from particular class held by Lecturer on day.
2 Evaluation and identification of various method that can be used to prepares notes
Notes taking have become one of the essential features of academic life as students by
taking notes can retain information for longer period of time. There are numerous method that
can be used to prepares notes by individuals which can be illustrated as follows:

Cornell Method: It is types of note taking method that not only contribute in taking notes easier
and quicker but it is one of the effective tool that contribute in learning, revising and memorising
information note for longer time frame. It is made in form of table in which left hand side most
space is left to add relevant notes of the day or point that have learned from specific topic
(Meissner, Timmers and Pitts, 2019). On The left hand key words are written so that specific
topic or notes can be quickly read and used by students for various purposes. At last space is left
from summarising points or things that are most crucial which have to be remembered by
students to get passed in examination.
Outlining method: It is another method that is used for taking notes by students that make use
of bullet points and heading to organise several topic which have been teach by lecture in
previous classes. Outlining method is one of the best method in making notes of topic that have
detail information. There are various subtopics are made with each section or main topic so that
students by seeing detailed of subtopic can get information whatever it required for passing in
examination. There are various advantages of Outlining method such as helps students to easily
identified relationship between subtopic and topics, neatly, clearly organised topics at the same
time they can make various question easily.
Mapping method: This types of notes are mostly preferred by student that likes graphic, design
and more creative presentation as these notes are made by use of different pen, paper and styles
so that things can be learned easily. For mapping method most of the students make use of arrow
in order to connect various points to central idea (Birgili, 2019). Students has also options to use
color- coding, bullets or number to make it easy and attractive for further use in future
circumstances. Thus, several points can be made to test memory of students and quick revision
of relevant points of specific topics.
Box and bullet method: It is other types of taking notes method that is pretty straightforward
and includes main points with supportive evidences. Therefore, a box is made in note with bullet
points that covered detailed about specific topic that has been taught by teachers in online classes
through zoom application.
Sentences method: There are some lessons that have more content as compared to others so
students by sampling writing main sentences or starting points remind students to learn them as
they can be asked in examination. Thus students can easily, quickly learned detailed information
about lesson despite of lot of content in it. There are few key advantages of sentences method

such as students can easily know about points that are useful and useless, quickly revise main
points (Woelk and et.al., 2017). Therefore it looks likes every sentences on new pages with
separate topics that helps in organising notes or point in more better manner for effective
outcomes.
Charting method: In these types of taking notes charts or columns are used to arranged large
number of information related to several topics or lesson. Each column is classified or divided on
basis of category and detailed are filled in each row that can be used by students. It highlight
only key piece or important information of each topics thus does not discussed about topics in
detailed.
Therefore, all are different method that can be used by students to take notes for their
better understanding and retention of information for longer period of time (Lee, 2019). Each
method have specific features thus may be suitable for one students or not so they can select
specific method to make notes in order to pass exam and get reputable job in future career.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that Zoom application is a platform that helps
million of Lecturer to provide knowledge and education to number of students through online. It
is best platform where diverse individual can study while staying at their home so in order to
retained and learned whatever that has been taught by teachers they have to make effective notes.
