INTRODUCTION
Study Skills, study strategies or academic skills are different approaches to effective
learning. These skills are very critical in nature for getting success in school and these are
considered as the most essential for achieving and acquiring good grades. Improving study skills
and academic knowledge helps individual to gain benefits in both academic and future lives. The
academic and study skills are also useful for learning and improving knowledge throughout one's
life. The present report is based on a task description and essay writing. Various techniques are
used for analyzing and interpreting information. Literature review of give topic is made in the
report and it refers to an explanation and summary of a given topic as found in journal article or
academic books.

TASK 1
1. Critically evaluate the suggestions made in the article on Hofstede's cultural dimensions
Culture refers to the customs, social behavior and ideas of particular person or overall
society and it also provides guidance and directions regarding how people behave and think.
There are five elements of culture such as rituals, symbols, values, though a process and
beliefs. Hofstede, Geert developed cultural dimension theory and identified four dimensions of
culture and describes that these four dimensions bring profound impacts on the business
environment. The four cultural dimensions as identified by Hofstede are uncertainty avoidance,
masculinity/ femininity, power distance and individualism/ collectivism (Elbaz, 2018). This
theory has a strong base to some extent as it focuses on exploring the main aspects of culture
of an individual, society or organization. The significance of Hofstede's Cultural dimension is
that it helps in portraying impacts of different cultures that are ingrained in society on values.
The individualism/ collectivism cultural dimensions refers or considers the degree of
which individual and society focus on integrating into groups or depend on groups or prefer to be
alone. The negative impact of individualism term is that it indicates that attaining personal goals
and objectives are essential whereas, the term collectivism brings positive impacts as it aims
that the well-being and goals of the group are important (Suzuki and Okuda, 2018). Several
countries of Asia and Mexico are examples of collectivism and the United States is an example
of individualism. The individualism is not acceptable in the business organization as everyone
