Organization Background
Subway organization is one of the biggest well-known fast food
franchises in Australia 2. It operates in various regions in the country by
supplying a range of foods such as the fresh meat, fruits, and all various
raw and already prepared foods. It took the organization over a decade to
grow, and it has grown to over 1413 outlets in the country. It has the
headquarters in Melbourne where it comprises of well-trained IT
professionals who ensure the operations of various offices are well
functioning.

Network Design and Flow Plan
Since the head offices are constructed such that they are close to one
another with less than one kilometer apart, the organization use the Local
Area Network design. The network channel uses the IEEE 802.11
protocol due to the wide range of frequency it offers to the network. This
is one of the most reliable network designs as the packets transfer is
much faster due to a small distance of movement. The flow of the packet
at each edge is regulated by a certain capacity such that it cannot exceed
the given capacity. The organization packet flow involves sending and
receiving the packets from one point to the other.

ADS, AP, BSS and ESS Information
The DS-3E0105P-E is used in the network switch as their Differentiated
Service (DS) since it requires no configuration. To ensure its different
offices communicates with one another effectively through the Local
Area network, the organization use the wireless router as its Access
Point. The Access Point in the organization has a built-in router that
offers network to the organization. Within the LAN of the organization,
there is also some wired network that connects a close internal office
device.

ADS, AP, BSS and ESS Information
An Access Point is connected to the wired networks within the wireless
network. This provides what is termed as the Basic Service Set (BSS)1.
Moreover, there are more than two BSS in the organization that forms a
single subnet to provide an extension of the range of mobility to the
network packets. This is referred to as the Extended Service Set (ESS).

Used devices, range, frequency, IEEE
substandard
The offices in the organization are well equipped with the networking
device such as the computers and wireless routers for wireless network
connectivity. Moreover, devices such as the modems are also present
which are used as the backup when the wireless routers have a
functionality issue.

Used devices, range, frequency, IEEE
substandard
The WLAN channel network used by the organization offers a range of
radio frequency such as the 4, 5, 5.9 and 60 GHz. Moreover, the wired
connected offices with fewer functions of the network use the cat 5e and
Cat 6 which offers up to 100MHz and 250MHz frequencies. However,
the larger offices that perform most of the duties use the Cat 6a which
offers a frequency of up to 500MHz.

Cost analysis
The network design has been a key determinant to the success of the
organization. Its implementation although it may sound expensive to
some organization, it has however reduced the cost and the delay time in
packet transfer and also communication within and outside the
organization. The networking devices are most advanced which ensure
fast data transmission and this, in general, reduces the cost as compared
to the use of outdated network devices.
