INTRODUCTION
Preparing for success at University requires individual abilities, skills, knowledge
and creativity to derive desired outcomes or results in the academics. The following
assignment report will be focusing on reflecting and identifying outcomes and
experience achieved during the preparation of academic, personal and professional
success at the University. This assessment will highlight different criterias and
supporting evidence that were explored during the preparation of success at University.
It will present discussion of the learnings that were obtained and demonstrated during
the module activities while preparing for success in higher education with the help of 12
points.

The VARK learning model can be referred to as a model that can be helpful for
improving and enhancing the abilities of individuals to study and learn effectively with
the use of various tools and techniques. VARK stands for visual, auditory, read/written
and kinaesthetic processes that an individual develops for gaining knowledge,
information and learning from their environment (Mirza and Khurshid, 2020). These can
be explained as software embedded in the body and mind of a human that is integral for
them to gain or incorporate various skills, abilities, knowledge and learning. With the
help of VARK questionnaire I have achieved the result as a multimodal learner which
means that I learn through various processes including kinaesthetic, written or read,
auditory and visual methods. The people who have multimodal learning abilities can
study better through various methods and achieve greater chances of success at
University.
Evidence 2: Reflection on my experience of learning
Throughout many years of my scholastic and higher education, I focused on
improving and developing such skills and knowledge that can improve my capabilities to
achieve greater performance in academics, personal and professional lives. Diligence
and accuracy can be identified among the most integral aspects for achieving success
and better scores in higher education (Semple, 2018). During the start of my scholastic

education my parents tried to improve my day to day learning activities by making me
habitual and regular by prioritizing my habitual studies. Due to this I have developed a
regular schedule to study timely so that I focus on studies and wasteful activities can be
reduced. As a high school graduate I had understood that there is a need to develop
skills and abilities to study effectively. I would recommend that the students do not need
to study on an everyday basis but they need to focus on studying timely and focusing on
developing a schedule to study seriously. In my student life I have understood that it is
important to improve the assignment work through constant evaluation, develop habitual
studying time, and revised learning on a regular basis so that better scores can be
achieved during the times of examination that also help to eradicate stress and pressure
upon the students.
Evidence 3: Note Taking
Note taking is a very important activity and highly effective technique for improving
the learning activities and maintaining a proper record of important topics that were
taught in the classroom. Cornell's method of taking note is a very effective method for
improving the learning activities and note taking that also involves the use of audio

visual learning methods through records. I have understood that it is integral to examine
and identify the best learning style with the help of note taking ability so that academic
learning and academic performance can be improved. The ability of note taking is also
important because it is helpful to collect, organise, analyse, summarize and interpret
important learning materials so that learning can become easier (McGann, 2019). In my
personal opinion, note taking can be helpful for the learners to maintain a systematic
record of important study materials and lessons that were learnt in the classroom. This
can be done by making notes using headings, sub headings, and pointers so that they
can improve their learning activities on daily basis.

The references presented are a good example of the Harvard referencing style that
is commonly used in academic writing. It is mostly used by the academic writers for
providing adequate, correct and stagnated information of the sources, authors,
publishing date and its content (Tulis, Steuer and Dresel, 2018). Harvard style of
referencing is mainly used in the UK that provides evidence and authentic support to the
data generated by the students for their academic writing works and assignments. By
using proper Harvard references and citations in the academic writing work, academic
reports, projects and assignments the reader can easily achieve the source from which

Evidence 5: Presentation skills
Presentation skills can be explained as an aspect in which a person is able to
demonstrate about a subject matter to random people with maximum understanding,
clarity and objectivity. This skill is very important to achieve academic success at the
University because it helps the beginners and learners to present their work in front of
tutors and other people with high efficiency and effectiveness. I understood that
preparing a presentation requires clear and concise information, facts and images that
directly relate to a given subject (Bae and Darche, 2019). This helps to improve the
understanding of material presented and create interest among the viewers to engage
themselves throughout the presentation. It is helpful for presenting academic work with
specific materials, pictures, text, content and time length that catches the attention of
the viewers. I have learnt that it is important to include good text, images, audits and
time frame to improve the presentation ability.
Evidence 6: Communication skills
Communication can be considered as the ability of people to exchange information
with precise sense and meaning. There are various ways of communication such as
written, oral and sign language that can be helpful for learners to communicate with
each other. Communication and interaction in higher studies is important for students so
that they can connect with their teachers and follow mates (Samerkhanova and et. al.,
2022). This is also helpful for the students to take part in the classroom discussion

activities, group work, raising questions and expressing opinions on their learning
activities. I believe that interaction and communication skills are necessary to take part
in various classroom activities where I can communicate with people like tutors,
professors and friends. This will still also be helpful in improving my professional growth.

robotics over the upcoming future time (Lértora and Sullivan, 2019). It has been
identified that the occurrence of Covid-19 pandemic has intensified the growth of
technology advancement throughout the businesses across the world. It has been
understood that the global crisis caused by the pandemic has lowered the interaction of
the workforce with each other due to pandemic rules. This will lead to tremendous
changes like adoption of technology and digital workplace in the businesses over the

next 5 years. The use of artificial intelligence/AI, digitalisation, automatism and remote
operations are developed at the workplace so that work can be performed more
effectively and efficiently. The importance of artificial intelligence and machine learning
has been identified during the Covid-19 pandemic so that businesses can sustain
themselves during the changing scenario.
Evidence 10: Knowledge Sharing
Knowledge sharing refers to the collaboration of learners to share their information
and knowledge by discussing with other students. I have learnt that sharing information
and knowledge can improve the ability to retain information for a longer time. The
information, ideas and knowledge can enhance the abilities to interpret and
communicate with each other to enhance group learning (Bhowmik and Kim, 2018).
This can help to improve my abilities to gain more knowledge and learning by
discussing with fellow mates and clarify doubts to prepare for examination.
Evidence 11: Data (Numeracy) Skills in academic learning
It can be assessed from the above titles that various topics and academic titles can
be understood with the help of available data (quantitative and qualitative) on online
platforms like YouTube, academia etc. I have understood that various topics can be
learnt through various data sources ad numeracy skills that can be integral to improve

my learning activities during the preparation for success at University. Data provide
many options and availability of a huge amount of content that can help to improve my
learning activities (Jackson and et. al., 2022). Data can also help to explore information,
knowledge and inputs from various audio, visual and written information that could
enhance the attainment of knowledge and information.
Evidence 12: Research and Academic writing skills
Research can be explained as critical search of data and information through
various sources, including books, online, journals, etc. Academic writing can be
considered as precise, authentic and clear writing of academic content. It should
demonstrate the clear understanding of academic content by the learner that is used by
them (Roy, 2019). It has been explained that academic writing can also give better
abilities to understand the written text materials for effective learning. Moreover, I have
prepared myself to achieve higher academic performance by integrating skills that can
provide chances to get success at University. I have learnt by attending the module that
complex vocabulary and jargon may lead to chances of plagiarism and writing defects in
the content.
SUMMARY/CONCLUSION
A portfolio refers to a document that includes the summary of skills and abilities that
are developed and possessed by a person. It cannot be said that the preparation for
growth and success in a specific area needs proper understanding of skills and abilities
needed to achieve desired results in a successful manner. This portfolio has been
demonstrating my abilities and skills that can be helpful to improve my learning and
development activities at the University. With the help of proper evidence from many
sources I have provided the areas of learning and development I have achieved at the
University. Moreover I evidenced my aspects of learning by including many pieces of
evidence that support my academic work and can be used as reference by the tutors. It
has been obtained from the portfolio with the help of VARK learning questionnaire that I
have understood various factors that a person should possess for understanding and

acquiring different learning styles. Secondly, I also demonstrated the experience is an
ability that I have obtained throughout the process of progressive learning and
evaluation. It has been obtained that various resources were very helpful to improve my
motivation to enhance my learning and skill development for achieving success in
higher education. I have identified that there are various methods of note taking among
which Cornell's note taking method can support note taking of my academic work. In the
fourth evidence I identified the use of Harvard referencing that is commonly used as the
proof or reference for checking the authenticity and viability of content used in academic
works. This could be helpful in supporting the authenticity of assessments and
academic course work and provide for the referencing to tutors with the help of proper
citations. The summary of the article that was understood during the assessment was
demonstrated in the fifth piece of evidence that could be helpful in understanding the
use of summarization of content and improving academic learning activities. It was
examined that there are various communication methods that can be helpful to improve
interaction among the tutors, classmates, professors and other people so that better
networks can be developed. I have thought of mastering this ability through a gradual
process that can also help to improve the ability to communicate in an effective and
efficient manner and also develop clarity and better information. Finally this will be
helpful to improve my ability to learn, and share knowledge, experiences and learnings
with others. I also learnt about the presentation skills that could be helpful to improve my
ability to present or demonstrate topics to common people, tutors, and students by
creating such content that attracts their attention. From this I have focused on identifying
my strengths and weaknesses and opportunities and threats that could occur during my
preparation for success. I have identified that knowledge sharing, online learning and
academic writing skills can provide greater support to enhance my performance in the
academic examinations. This could help in improving my capability to achieve academic
success at University. Finally, it has been concluded that we need to develop
presidential goals to prepare for academic growth and success. It has been
demonstrated that a student must demonstrate and focus on achieving positive
outcomes through research in their academics. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated
