In this document we will discuss about Electronic Prescribing and below are the summary points of this document:- The need for electronic prescribing is driven by the goal of improving safety, quality, and efficiency in the prescribing process, reducing medication errors, and streamlining workflow. Literature reviews highlight the benefits of electronic prescribing, such as increased patient satisfaction, streamlined workflow, prevention of medical errors, and improved system compliance. However, challenges include high implementation costs and legal/ethical concerns. User perceptions regarding electronic prescribing barriers and facilitators include design and technical issues, interoperability, relevance, resources, productivity concerns, and the positive factor of enhancing productivity and efficiency. Leadership, equipment reliability, and effective interpersonal communication are crucial for successful implementation.

gave idea about the following benefits of
electrinic prescribing:
• Increase patient satisfaction level
• Streamline clinical practice workflow
• Prevent medical errors
• Improve compliance with system.
The challenges in implementation includes:
• High cost associated with implementation
• Legal and ethical issues in implementation

SUMMARY OF THE LITERATURE REVIEW
The user groups perception about barriers and
facilitators to electronic prescribing in health
care setting were as follows:
Design and technical issues, interoperability,
relevance, resource and productivity of the
system a concern among users
The positive factor of enhancing productivity
and efficiency through electronic prescribing
(Gagnon et al., 2014).

SUMMARY OF THE LITERATURE REVIEW
• Hogan-Murphy et al., (2015) gave the
indication that the e-prescribing can be
successfully implemented by good team
leadership and reliability of the equipments
and resource. He also stated poor
interpersonal communication weakens the
system.
• (Farre & Cummins, 2016) explained
successful implementation is dependent on
alignment of established work process
according to the system and organizational
structure
