Introduction
The Project explains the concept of
Tracheostomy and its clinical care.
It analyzes the review of reliable sources of
literature to collect the related data.
It explains the application of Benner’s Model in
helping the nurses to plan for tracheostomy care.
It involves discussion about the relevance of
topic for Nursing students
It explains the role of multidisciplinary team in
care of tracheostomy patients.

Tracheostomy
Tracheostomy is a clinical procedure to make
a surgical opening in the neck to reach
trachea (Crosbie, Cairney & Calder, 2014).
It is preferred in medical conditions where
ventilators are used for longer time or the
airway is narrowed down or blocked (Berney,
Wasserfallen & Grant, 2014).
The purpose of this report is to illustrate the
principles involved in the post operative care
of patients with tracheostomy.
