1SUPPLIER EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT
The vendor evaluation form is seen to be prepared as per the evaluating done with the
consideration of need factor as per Timeliness of Deliveries. This is evident with an augmented
focus on weighting factor. The weighting factor for timeliness of the deliveries is seen with 25%
of the total weighting. The inclusion of the some of the other significant factors for the vendor
evaluation form is seen with quality aspect of overall materials, products and parts. The total
weightage for this parameter is 15%. The total weighting for Quality of Materials upon delivery,
Parts and Products is considered to be 15% (Sahling & Kayser, 2016).
Some of the other significant factors has been further discerned with Competitiveness
aspects of Pricing and quality of Service Period with weighting of 2.5%. Competitiveness of
Terms and Conditions, aspect is taken into account with Company Reputation, Technical
expertise of the support staff, Dependability and Job Knowledge. These are seen with a
weightage of 5%. The main rationale for the assessment of need assessment is considered with
the high weightage on “Quality of Materials upon delivery, Parts and Products” (Liu, Chan &
Ran, 2016). This is considered with a total weighting of 15%. The evaluation form has
maintained a rating scale of 1 to 5, which shows “1= Poor, 2 = Fair, 3 = Satisfactory, 4=Good
and 5 = Excellent” (Gupta, Fügenschuh & Ali, 2017). Some of the other general parameters have
included with name of the vendor, vendor ID and associated department of the vendor. Some of
the other factors are considered with Legal form under which business operates, Number of
Employees at the headquarters, Number of Locations and Names of Key officers. The other
parameters are considered with Size of Headquarters with total employee strength and name of
the sales people associated with the vendor (Dutta, Gwebu & Wang, 2017).
The inclusion of the all the necessary factors will be conducive in stating the present
standard of the suppler. These evaluations are seen to be important for the sourcing of the
vendor. The total score is seen to be included with the total weightings as per all the selected
parameters (Khan & Faisal, 2015).
