The success of Nestle is depending on supply chain functions of the company. Nestlé’s key
plants, key suppliers, co-packers, warehouse facilities are main factors of supply chain. If Nestle
do not follow these then it can lead to disruption in supply.
Nestle using higher technology to provide transparency in supply chain to customers,
maintaining the relationship between vendors and publish all the information of supply chain.
Because many customers want to know that the products they are using, where are they come
from.
Slide 3: Logistics
Logistics are divided into two parts which are Inbound and Outbound. Inbound logistics include
the process of prepare and pack the product whereas outbound logistics include the process of
transportation and reach the product to the customer. First of all, the products are made from raw
materials, after which those products are packed. After the Processing and packaging, Products
are transported to wholesalers with the help of transport. Nestle has its own distribution service
with all facilities. Nestle distribute products at main distribution centers at different locations and
sales officers carry these products through their vans to wholesalers. Wholesalers supply
products to the retailer stores and at the end customers buy products from stores. Nestle offers
food and beverages, which are divided into mainly three categories: Chocolates, milk products
and other products.
Nestle divided their factories according to the different areas. The given table shows the factories
of America and number of factories per country.
Slide 4: Quality policy of products
Supply chain of Nestle also involves the quality policy of products because nestles takes special
care of quality and serves the best quality. Nestle buy raw materials from farmers to address
social issues and global environment. After prepare the products, sent to the Company’s C&F
agent from manufacturing unit. After examining the quality of the products, the further process is
followed. Nestle provide basic technical training to all the farmers and workers to ensure the
high quality products.
Basic supplier codes of Nestle are human rights, safety and health, business integrity and
environmental sustainability.
