Supply Chain Management 2
UPS is a significant shipping and chain management service supplier, the world's
largest package distribution system. UPS's wide range of distribution, storage, freight, and
consulting technologies make it easy for consumers to improve the performance of their
global supply chain management services. Special in establishing an end to end control of the
supply chain UPS Supply Chain Solutions. Both UPS and Schneider logistics websites
provide useful information about the services they deliver. Schneider logistics websites have
a navigation link to a page with descriptions of the supply chain management systems it
offers. Transportation network administration, vendor control, and logistics consultancy are
included in supply chain management. (Langley, Belman, and White, 2018, pgs. 101-125).
Leaders in logistics are always looking for better solutions to the supply chain system, and
essential information is needed to make the right choice. Mercury Gate, Oracle, and JDA, the
two most marked applications for detailed and full control of the supply chain, Schneider is
the leading supplier for trucking, intermodal, and distribution services.
Question One
The direct procurement model is to decrease the position of stocks in the supply chain
of firms. This evades distribution centers and allows inventory to flow, thus growing the
delivery process and reducing product prices from supplier to ultimate customer. According
to Yazdani, Zarate, Coulibaly, and Zavadskas (2017, pgs. 376-392), the company has become
a third-party in the provision of a network, supplying customers with a variety of shipping
and distribution solutions. These facilities streamline operations and prevent companies from
building or leasing warehouses and delivery hubs. It can also decrease the number of parties
involved in the supply chain process, lessen the threat of system failures or slowdowns on
different links. Hence customers receive goods in good condition. UPS is also seeking
technology-based improvements in its own logistics operations with a fleet of almost 10,000

vehicles (Matuszczak and Chrąchol-Barczyk, 2016, pgs. 57-65). The business has been
researching substitute fossil fuels since the 1930s and now has the largest fleet of alternative
fuels in the transport sector. This has helped clients receive their products in time without
delay hence satisfying their needs.
For third-party freight, Schneider Logistics handles about $2 billion annually. This
represents a large customer pool, spanning from large retailers and distributors to small firms.
The firm assists customers in finding their goods based on the shipper's expense, operation,
and requirements by offering innovative solutions. Customers prefer Schneider firm, and they
depend on it due to the firm's strengths and efficiency (Yazdani, Zarate, Coulibaly, and
Zavadskas, 2017, pgs. 376-392). The company assesses its services and quality hence
facilitating customers' needs and wants. The investments of the business have also provided
further control to its consumers. It recently launched Orange Hub, a platform for shipping
customers to all the forms of LTL service that they need, operated by Schneider. Shippers can
quote and monitor freight, obtain reports and decide on the cost and capability on their
desktop, tablet, and smartphone at their disposal.
Question Two
In a white paper entitled "Invention in practice," UPS logistics company outlined its
inquiry into the Idea Group on the delivery of goods from supply companies to several clients
in the US. Through streamlined shipment and customs standards and eliminating the need to
store the surplus in the Idea Group warehouse in California, UPS claimed that the distribution
volume was decreased. UPS has played a significant role in the use of consumer productivity
technologies (Hof, Schneider, and Goeke, 2017:102-112).

structured pricing, which helps to control costs and contract to price. The innovative multi-
modal network offers reliability, connectivity, and protection as no other. Shippers of all sizes
are confident that we can design intelligent freight solutions that efficiently move every load-
with 100% acceptance and 98% delivery on time hence benefiting the customers (Möller,
Bauhaus, Hoffmann, Niess and Otto, 2019).
Question Three
UPS uses modern technologies to revolutionize the operation of the supply chain. The
firm is extending its market to include a symbiotic relationship with any external company
that incorporates its technology into its operations. UPS is growing its cellular and
multinational pricing, shipment, and technology to indeed provide a comprehensive approach
to any delivery and supply chain management requirements of small and large businesses
(Ellram and Tate, 2016, pgs. 250-254). The development technologies mostly web-based
reduce and increase every company's cost performance. One of the most active elements in
UPS apps and promotional offerings is to mix and match and incorporate every feature to
help customers. The supervision of supply chain is an increasingly complex challenge in
businesses, especially today. As the world landscape is becoming increasingly competitive,
UPS developments are equalizing the playing field.
UPS provides consumers essential wireless solutions. Wherever customers need to
import transmission and monitoring files, they may use UPS applications. Such apps help
business customers with up-to-date information on the shipment of their mobile workers. It
makes it extremely beneficial for both companies to provide customers with accurate and up-
to-date information to facilitate relations with their customers. The UPS offers broadband
access to a vast number of resources. On their wireless phone or PDA, clients can check for

the closest UPS location, UPS wireless systems reliably and efficiently measure prices and
monitor shipments.
The business change program, known as Quest, included re-engineered systems and
an IT infrastructure of the next generation that enable Schneider to determine informed
decisions at all levels of the organization, increase competitiveness and reduce cost across all
divisions. The corporation has checked for the Oracle E-Business Pack, Siebel Consumers
Relationship Management (CRM) software, Oracle Server, the Oracle Enterprise Manager to
become technology partners for the business-wide initiative (Wild, 2017).
Question Four
Both UPS and Schneider logistics websites provide useful information about the
services they deliver. Schneider logistics websites have a navigation link to a page with
descriptions of the supply chain management systems it offers. Transportation network
administration, vendor control, and logistics consultancy are included in supply chain
management. The company handles abundant supplies, for example, refrigerated services,
requiring special handling. It also offers logistical consulting services to implement the BID
SMART technology to help an organization build efficient distribution processes and identify
supply chain issues. From its website, Schneider logistics company seems to have a better
understanding of China's economy and China's infrastructure, so that the company may be
better for business with many Chinese consumers or suppliers. There is no specific navigation
network link on the Ups logistics website (Min and Joo, 2006).
Nevertheless, the company provides details on its website how it can help the business
grow, serve clients better, save time and money. Grow the corporate connection with
consumer trading details, regional freight costs, and international shipping statistics. Licensed

shipments. This provides products like the UPS next day air, UPS global port, and
corporations can give clients more delivery options and also offer sustainable alternatives to
cater to environmentally friendly consumers. The websites provide several examples of UPS
logistics to enhance the healthcare supply chain (Dewar & Schumacher, 2017, pgs. 1-19).
I would choose the UPS logistics because it offers social responsibility for
sustainable options. Since the company provides information on its website and how it can
help a business grow, serve clients better, save time and money, grow the corporate
connection with consumer trading details, regional freight costs, and international shipping
statistics. This makes it a better choice as compared to Schneider logistics. The UPS company
is also cost-saving hence provides high-quality services at a lower cost as compared to
Schneider logistics.
