Introduction
A healthy life style for children through diet, It can promote nutritional diet to make a
appropriate schedule like regular family meals (Meredith Butcher, 2014). It will discuss about
nutritional value and needs, requirements, weaning programme, strategies, impact of poor diet.
As well as contrast between England vs Malta to promote healthy eating.
Task 1
1.1 Healthy Eating
It means a variety of foods that provide the needful nutrients to maintain health, feel
good, have energy. It contain vitamin, carbohydrate, protein etc.
1.2 National and healthy initiatives which promote healthy eating

Breastfed until they fully weaned are at last six month. It is essential that kids begin the
process of weaning because unless babies are bottle fed their earthy store of mineralized called

3.3 Weaning programme
Weaning is the gradual introduction of solid food to diet of baby reasons are, satisfy
increasing appetite, develop the chewing mechanism and new skills like use of feeding beaker,
cup, cutlery etc.
3.4 Nutritional requirements of children aged
1-2- Need 1000 calories like grains, dairy products etc.
2-3 - Eat three meals like eggs, fruits, vegetables.
3-5- 3 meals and 2-3 solid, fruits, vegetables, dairy, grain.
5-7- Need three meals per day, salt in food like 3gm, calories 1600kcal.
3.5 Strategies of healthy eating
Strategies are serve meals on smaller dishes, keep proportion right, opt for colour, quash
unhealthy snacking, eat like they mean it, eat mindfully, don't skip meal.
4.1 Impacts of poor diet on health of child and for development
Children who eat unhealthy are more likely to develop definite long term health issues
and complications consider as Osteoporosis in further life as well as cardiovascular disease
(Hendricks, 2007).
Moreover, short term consequence of dieting have deficiency of basic, nutrients and
vegetables can reduced vigour and focus and impart to an poor body weight.

Compare and contrast between two countries Malta and England what we are doing as a country
and what England is doing to promote healthy eating as a country
The government of Malta is provided a supportive alcohol environment which encourage
a healthy lifestyle as well as provision for a flexible curriculum that is health, diet, nutrition, food
