Senator Joni Ernst is a member of the American senate. She represents the state of Iowa.
She has been a senator since 2015. She has made history since she is the first woman to become
a member of the senate. As a political leader, she has her views on different issues that affect the
citizens that she leads and represent. In the issue of immigration, Joni called for US government
to conduct a thorough vetting process for all immigrants like the Syrian refugees. She cited that
the former president Obama had no comprehensive and clear communication strategy on the
issue of immigrants. In the year 2018, the senator wrote to the secretary for defense indicating
that the decision to try immigrants in military courts was not a good one. She said according to
her own view that that was using the military in an inappropriate way. When the current
president proposed 5.7 billion to be set aside for the construction of a wall at the borders, she
believed that not all areas require a physical barrier since there exists technologies that monitor
