Should self-driven cars be future of transportation? Transport sector has changed over the
decade with competition in the manufacturing companies worldwide. Self-Driven cars use
computer program to drive the vehicle. The automated car is used in most developed Countries
because of its numerous advantages. For a long period, the transport sector experienced many
challenges that endangered passengers and goods safety. Also, traffics jams and congestion pose
challenges to the commuters affecting their schedules. Indeed the self-driven cars should be the
future of the transport sector as it safe time and its more comfortable to use (Burns 181).
According to United States traffic reports, more than 20,000 people die annually through
accidents. The case is the same worldwide; innocent lives are lost through accident each day. But
adoption of self-driven cars will significantly reduce the incident or the accident that happen
every day. Reckless drivers cause most accidents while others don’t have the experience to
operate on roads (Coca-Vila 59). The automated vehicles have sensors controlled by an expert
who regulates the car movement. The move will also reduce the time spent on the road by
commuters as the expert tracking the vehicles and will find an effective way to reduce traffic in
the cities. The sensors help in lane changing where they detect obstacles, reduce speed or initiate
emergency brakes more efficient than a human being can do. Also, the sensors can see far ahead
in cases of poor visibility. This accuracy is what self-driven vehicles entail where people lives
are more secured.

radars, inertial measurement units and radar to function effectively. The infotainment system
uses user interface to identify the right navigation paths, obstacles, and signs. The car automates

implemented the innovation of self-driven vehicles, The United States being the pioneer of the
technology. There are a few disadvantages of self-driven cars, but the advantages associated with

The city with an effective autonomous car system can manage car parking to decongest the city.
Using tracking device in the self-driven cars, the vehicles can be directed to one place outside the
city when they are not operating. Since programs operate the vehicles, they can be parked in an
orderly manner hence saving space and time. A lot of resources are set aside in finding ways to
decongest Cities in many Countries; hence investing in self-driven cars will be more effective
way to handle congestion (Wolf 20).
Commuters prefer using self-driven cars as it’s cheaper compared to automotive vehicles.
Availability of electric transportation makes people pay less as there are no driver’s expenses
that the vehicle owners will have to pay, also using electricity is much cheaper than fuel. “The
smart technology is not born smart” (Stilgoe 25). These vehicles are also comfortable to use
because it has enough space for commuters to enjoy the ride. The cars don’t include driving
tools; instead, it has entertainment tools. Experts believe that future vehicles will look like a
comfortable living room. The self-driven car is the way forward as it makes the ride more and
more enjoyable.

to enjoy the ride as other people. Car manufacturers have failed to invent vehicles used by the
disabled. The self-driven cars use automatic driving tools to control the vehicles. Cases of car
theft will be reduced at a significant percentage as the vehicles have installed devices that
monitor the movement of the vehicle. The cars are automatically triggered when unauthorized
person gain access to these vehicles. Most recently Interpol police and other security agencies
have been tracing lost vehicles that transport containers far to Africa among different Continent,

With the approval of self-driven vehicles, most Countries’ economy will grow into 24
hours working marketplace. With no drivers involved, the cars can travel over long distance
without stopping as in the cases of drivers who have to make stops for drivers to rest. Time is an
essential factor in a developed country. Most businesses fail to achieve their objective due to
delivery delay. But with self-driven cars, time challenge will be a thing of the past. The system
also accommodates the transportation of dangerous items like chemicals which can be dangerous
to human life. The self-driven car can also be used for transport of high valued items and
weapons; it is done through the installation of secure security protocols thus ensuring safe
delivery. Indeed the self-driven offer fantastic ride like water ride where one can sleep or
conduct a meeting while traveling as the vehicles will have a healthy future with constant
development in technology.

onboard computer program that can do much calculation and analysis for safety ride (Goodall
