Introduction
When I was undertaking my bachelor’s degree, I had one thing in mind-to proceed with
my education at the prestigious Royal Roads University (RRU). With this in mind, I knew that I
would get an opportunity to join a prestigious institution in which I would advance my studies.
That is how I ended up joining the RRU’s Faculty of Management to study the Master of Global
Management (MGM). This is a life-changing course through which I will acquire lots of skills to
apply throughout my career. In this paper, I give an analysis of the course content and learning
outcome forecast.
Course Content forecast
I chose to pursue the RRU’S MNM as my preferred master’s degree. In life, there are
choices that people make. To me, MNM is one of the most important choices I have ever made
in my career. I believe that it is the best course through which I will a learn lots of lessons.
Therefore, based on the information that I have so far gathered, I expect that MNM will give me
a platform to study a wide range of content.
First and foremost, I am looking forward to studying abut cross-cultural awareness.
Management is a diverse field. It gives experts an opportunity to operate in a diverse setting

made up of people from different social, economic, and political diversities. In this regard, I want
this course to equip me with adequate and research-based information on cross-cultural
management strategies. Besides, I would like the course to have a content rich in information on
self-awareness. Self-awareness is a useful skill that all the management practitioners should
possess. It can make them to be knowledgeable and consciousness of themselves as well as the
environment in which they operate (Barley, Beth and Frances 113). At the same time, I am
expecting that the course will contain information on ethical decision-making processes. Self and
cross-cultural awareness are closely-related to decision-making. For a professional to make
rational decisions, they must have a sound knowledge of the ethical standards and be critical in
their thoughts. That is why I expect the course to address such issues.
I also expect the course to capture the issue of international business strategy. MNM is a
course that prepares the learners to be professionals who can operate universally. Management
practitioners who go through this course should be able to serve in any part of the world.
Therefore, to achieve this, the course must adequately-prepare them by equipping them with
useful information on the strategies that can be applied in managing at the international level. I
advocate for this content because I understand that such strategies can make it possible for the
manager to overcome the challenges faced on day-day-to-day basis (Noe, et al. 37). The
strategies can help in dealing with the variations in the international politics, finance, marketing,
operations, change, and human resources management. If the course contains all these, it can
equip the practitioners with useful skills to use in operating in a global context no matter how
unique or challenging it might be.
I am also planning to study MNM because I expect it to have enough information on
business, laws, ethics, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In my understanding, these

are some of the most important components of organizational management that must be
properly-handled by the modern-day managers. Business law is a must for the current managers.
All the organizations no matter the nature of their operations must adhere to some laws that are
applicable to them. Business laws are not static because they vary from one jurisdiction to the
other. Hence, through this course, the learners must be taught about the significance of business
laws and the reasons why they must be adhered to (Barley, Beth and Frances 114). The same can
be attributed to the business ethics that must be applied by all the organizations. Conformity is
key. That is why it is recommended that organizations should engage in standard and acceptable
practices like CSR. In this regard, for the course to be useful, it must contain all these
information.
Learning Outcomes forecast
I have a strong conviction that MNM is the best course that RRU has to offer. From the
course outline and other preliminary information I have had, I have realized that this is a very
important course that I must undertake. According to me, I expect the course to equip me with
fundamental skills that will prepare me to be the kind of professional I aspire to be.
In the first place, I expect that the course will enable me to be a good communicator.
Effective communication is a skill that must be possessed by all the management professionals.
It is necessary as it gives individuals an ample opportunity to freely interact with others and
establish healthy interpersonal relationships. This is something that cannot be ruled out in
management because it involves constant communication. Hence, I expect that upon a successful
completion of this course, I will emerge as an effective communicator. The course will enable
me to horn my communication competencies by engaging in formal and informal sessions with

my peers and instructors. For example, during group work, I will have to engage in a one-on-one
interaction with my group members. I will also get to improve my written communication skills
by engaging in the writing of reports, memos, emails, and letters.
The other outcome that I am expecting from MNM is problem-solving and critical
thinking. The course has enough information on rational decision-making processes. It teaches
the learners on how to be good decision-makers who can use their critical minds to tackle life
challenges. Hence, by the end of this course, I expect to be a good decision-maker (Noe, et al.
28). I want the course to equip me with all the necessary skills that I can use to study the
situation, generate solutions, and manage to come up with well-thought justifiable and feasible
decisions that can be relied upon to resolve real-life challenges. This is quite important because
management is not a simple task. It is a complex activity that requires one to have excellent
problem-solving skills at all times.
Last, but by no means the least, I expect the course to mold me to be a flexible and
diverse personality. As already hinted, the course is rich in information on information on global
management. It has enough content on the management of organizations in a global setting. So,
by the end of this course, I look forward to gather enough skills on how I can be an all-round
professional who is flexible enough to serve in any place regardless of the uniqueness (Barley,
Beth and Frances 112). The course prepares me to be a global citizen who should not shy away
from serving in any part of the world. That, in my opinion, is what global management entails.
Conclusion
I commend the management of RRU for including MGM as part of its courses. I am
proud to associate with this institution and get an ample opportunity to study this course. It is the

best course that I expect to contain useful information on self-awareness, cross-cultural

me with enough knowledge on all that I need to be a 21st century management expert. It will give
me useful skills such as effective communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, flexibility,
