The study is a survey analysis concerning academic integrity awareness among the students. The study has been based on a survey taken among students of the Conestoga College. The background of the study has been analyzed. Moving forwards the survey analysis has been done. The essential strengths and weaknesses have been evaluated and the conclusions have been provided accordingly.

Introduction
The purpose of the study is to analyze the findings that have emerged from a survey
conducted among students on academic integrity. The survey tests whether or not the students
are aware of the academic integrity standards. The survey that is being considered was carried
out by asking 59 students specific questions concerning their views on academic integrity. Their
awareness and knowledge of available resources were tested.
Details
The survey pointed Moreover, attendance figures are connected equally to the quality of
the course being provided and the student oriented factors. 54% of the students said that they had
good understanding of the concept of academic integrity. Only around 2% students said that they
do not have very good understanding of academic integrity. Moreover, concerning the Conestoga
College, 44% were very confident and 42% were very confident about locating information
about academic integrity. Around 56% of the students said that they were very aware of the fact
that making others write assignments for them is a serious violation. 86% were very aware that
copying form others was a serious offence. 73% of the students were aware of the fact that
working with their peers in individual assignments is against academic integrity. 80% of the
students responded to be very aware of using previous year’s assignment being violation of
academic integrity. Most students were found to be well aware of the various factors that guided
academic integrity. Most students agreed that the penalty for violations of academic integrity
should either be 0 grade in assignment or be failed or be suspended. Academic integrity
awareness was found to be good. The strength of the study was the direct questions that were

asked. The essential weakness however was the lack of demographic data. The survey can be
used in the future to spread awareness about integrity.
Academic misconduct is a significant problem in the education setting of Australia. It is a
growing concern among educational institutions in the country that it can affect the learning
derived by the students (Picard et al., 2018). Many are of the view that approaches that focus on
creation of a sense of being among students can help to greatly reduce the occurrence of
academic misconduct. It is important to understand that academic integrity cannot be allowed in
any of the educational institutions (Bretag, 2015).
Conclusions
The implications point to the fact that more students are aware of the aspects related to
academic integrity. Students seem to be very much aware of the fact that taking outside help for
assignments, copying from others and helping peers with assignments that they have to complete
individually are serious offences. In future this awareness can be used towards generating better
approaches towards academic integrity.
Recommendations
Keeping in line with the expectation of the students, it is important that the factors of
academic integrity are discussed clearly with students. It is important that the students are
presented with better learning opportunities that negate the usage of any unethical means to pass
assessments or assignments. Students should be kept more engaged in the classes, thereby
improving their approach towards academic integrity. The faculty members should focus more in
free interactions with students and free discussions about academic integrity.
