A Sector in which I wish to work:
Social work is the sector I wish to work in because this work is full of ethical value and
belief. Social working means promoting social change in the society and empowering people
about their value in this world (Payne, 2020). I wish to work in this sector because I want to
bring important changes in the society and make the world a better place to live and social work
can be best in bringing such changes in the society.. I have chosen this sector because first, this is
my passion to become a social worker and help the people who are in need I would like to help
labour who find t difficult to fairly get employment in the market. Secondly, I want to bring
major social change in the society, as per me social working means helping people professionally
and improving the sustainability of society. The changes I would like to see in this sector is
betterment of labour mainly minors and women. As per me these changes are very important and
need to be completed within five years. There are certain factors that influence the social
working which is related to labour market. Labour market need most of the help from social
working sector because they can be voice to stop any such unethical practice of labour market.
There are certain factors of labour market such as:
Factors impacting the labour market:
Labour market means market for job, here employee find the right job that suit to their skills and
ability. Labour market fulfil the demand and supply of labours which is required by the business
organization. This market greatly contribute in the betterment of economy, there is always high
scope in the demand of labour (Bonoli, 2017). The labour market is very broad which even
include some unethical market practice that not only violate the labour right but this also violate
the human fundamental right. Some business organization need minor to work in their factory
and industry and have high demand of minor labour who illegally work in these factories. As a
social worker, I want to see major changes in this sector within next five years. Unethical labour
market practice influence the social sector, there are many social workers and NGOs who are
working to stop these unethical and inhuman business practice. This is one of the reason I want
to choose social working to completely stop this labour market practice. There are certain
challenges and opportunity in the social work regarding labour market such as:
High demand: high demand of labour will be the biggest challenges in the future, it is clearly
noticeable that every business sector is increasing day by day and new business are been starting

at regular base (Joll, et.al., 2018). This often result in high demand of labour in the market, many
business organization do not follow business or fundamental ethics and hire minors and women
in the remote working of the business organization. The high demand of minor effect the social
work sector as well, many social worker are against those companies who is been using minor
and women as a labour in remote working area such as factory and heavy equipment usage.
Fair trade: fair trade is one of the most require thing in the labour market, this can be
opportunity to bring betterment in the life of people. Through social working, labour market can
be improved and the policy of fair trade can be change and improved. Social working also can
find new opportunity in labour market. This fair trade impact the future employability need of
business organization as well as labour in the labour market.
B Requirement of skills and experience now and in the future:
Skills and experience play vital role in this sector, to get success in this role of social
worker I need to develop empathy, communication and active listening skill. Although this
sector of social working, there are requirements of various skills which need to be developed to
become a successful social worker. There are some skills which I already have such as
communication skills and active listening skill, every worker need to have effective
communication skills to understand people and their thoughts and provide solution accordingly.
This role of social worker need high skill and ability to understand the emotion of others. As per
the experience, social working experience can be gathered through participating in various
social working or becoming a volunteer in any such as social working campaign. Where if we
talk about the development of skill to meet the future requirement to be successful in this role, I
have to develop various basic and important skills such as: critical thinking skills. To get this
skill I will follow career management model to support personal development activities. In social
working critical thinking ability play an vital role, which I need to develop as a skill to fit in the
role of social worker.
Career EDGE theory:
Career EDGE theory means the employability model which a person need to understand
planning their career. I have used this career development model in the management of my social
worker career (Pool, 2020). This model includes four important part which help me in the
development skills in the social work such as:

Experience: experience plays a vital role in the social work, a person who willing to become a
social worker. Experience help me to build boarder range of skills.

Emotional intelligence: emotional intelligence is very important in finding own feel and ability

worker have high chances to become global citizen because they take responsibility both
