Sustainable and Responsible Management in Tourism. Thus, it is stated that with the help of
effective sustainable tourism, hospitality organizations are support to provide sustainable
destination that keep attracting new visitors towards it.
Also, there is a strong link between the discussion about sustainable tourism and
responsible management such that sustainable is the goal which can be attained by the people
who took responsibility to attain it. Whereas, responsible management at Tourism is refers to the
authorities who helps people to attain the sustainable goals. Therefore, they both depend upon
each and with better contribution help the tourism to become sustainable. The present study will
critically evaluate range off travel and tourism including destination. Also, study will examine
the principles, process and management policies that helps to encourage sustainable tourism by
using different examples.
MAIN BODY
Concept of sustainable and responsible management in tourism
According to sustainable tourism (ST) Sharma, Thomas and Paul(2021) refers to the level
of tourism activity which are further preserved for long term because it directly benefit to the
social, economic and natural atmosphere of that area. Thus, it is important for the current era
because it helps to make the best use of environmental resources in order to conserve natural
heritage as well as biodiversity. On the other side, Wondirad and Ewnetu(2019)critically
evaluated that ST is that form of tourism which attain the demand of tourist and host community
without bargaining the potential of the future generation to meet the own needs. For example, a
sustainable tour operator come foundation in Switzerland.

Responsible tourism management is handlingcommerce in such a way that benefits to its
local civic, natural and commercial environment. Blancas and et.al.,(2018) supported the same
and stated that responsible management ensure the involvement of communities and minimize
the negative social, economic and environmental impacts in order to generate the greater
economic benefits.
Theories of sustainable and responsible management in tourism
The Diamond model is a ST development model whose main aim is to provide self-
governing evidence to support disliked decision of limiting the number of visitors in order to
prevent the environment. Also, Brătucu and et.al.,(2017) shared their views that with the help of
this theory, criteria are provided that helps the organizations to take necessary decision about
controlling the number of visitors of a tourism destination. Otherwise it creates negative impact
upon environment and ecological balance that affect the overall environment in adverse manner.
On the other side, as per the Marx’s theory of tourism development, it has been evaluated
that tourism act as a catalyst of economic, social and political process. Therefore, range of new
models have been implemented like time series model which evaluate the overall performance of
tourism and helps government and organization to make decision for future. In addition to this,
there are many models of tourism development which indicate how the system and sub-system
function within a specific destination. This in turn helps to attract the range of tourism towards it
so that they will enjoy the beauty of destination (Drius and et.al., 2019). For example, Thomas
Cook and TUI offered tours in which they focused upon sustainability where they do not cause
any negative impact upon the environment. Companies focused upon the food waste
management system, uses recyclable products that helps to prevent environment from negative
impacts.
Thus, the theory of the sustainable and responsible management in tourism causes direct
impact upon the business performance and that is why, by complying with such models and
theories, organizations improve the existence within market. Thus, it reflect that companies must
focused upon the criteria that are deigned under Diamond model so that it does not affect the
overall performance in negative manner.
