This report discusses the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) related to public health issues in Malta, particularly HIV infection and sexual health strategy. It describes current HIV testing protocols, recent information about Malta's performance in relation to SDGs, and healthcare risk management. INTRODUCTION
Sustainable Development goal is the agenda that can implements for the general public,
in order to maintain the public health issues. In the European country, there is a place known as
Malta, it can be seen that the number of HIV cases are increasing. In this report will discuss
about the SDG 3Rd for well-being of health. The report also outlines the Sexual Health Strategy
of Malta (Nedopil Wang, C., Lund Larsen, M. and Wang, Y., 2022).
Identify and describe the SDG related to the above scenario.
This is to identify that SDG, it can be said that HIV infection can take place due to sexual
transmission or transmission from mother to infants at the time of pregnancy(Hanemann, U.,
2019). Also, HIV-sensitive universal health coverage plays an essential role in promoting the
health equity, non communicable diseases, tuberculosis and other conditions. SDG 3 comprises
of the promise made by the Member States to achieve the end of AIDS by 2030(Nam-Chol, O.
and Kim, H., 2019).
Retrieve the Maltese Sexual Health Strategy and describe the current plan.
The Maltese island is situated in the Central Mediterranean which is said to be the closed
community. Sexual health strategy is one of the basic fundamental to the overall health and well
being. Under this the priority is given to encouraging the healthy sexual behaviour along with
reducing the overall risky behaviour. Also, targeted to decline the rate of unintended pregnancies
and make sure to work towards eradicating the late diagnosis and onward transmission of
HIV(Ordaz, E., 2019).
Identify and describe current HIV testing protocols in Malta.
The HIV testing is very rear in countries, but in the case of Malta HIV cases increases
day by day so the protocols of testing are highly implemented and increases the rate of no. of
testing per day. Blood and Oral fluid are taken as the sample in the test of HIV. Sometimes, also
detected by through urine. The actual virus of the HIV is looked by the NATs and also associate
represents the blood from a vein. Basically, In most of the cases blood can take as a sample
because blood have high number of chances to gives accuracy in the test. The main protocol
followed by Malta that is to avoid the contamination into the testing of HIV(Salvia, A.L. and
Brandli, L.L., 2020).

Retrieve recent information about Malta’s performance in relation to SDGs.
Malta's performances in relation to SDGs, as per the cases of HIV in malta's. It comes
under the SDGs number 3, this SDGs is for health well being and fit. The motto of the
Sustainable Development Goals 3rd is to provides healthy lives and well being of all ages people.
In order to attain SDG 3, it can be concluded that there are four main concerns for instance the
intersectional nature of inequality; the limitation of many current; the problem of health funding
in terms of both amounts and patterns and the poorly regulate and growing role of private parties
taking multiple forms. The overall significance of this Sustainable development goal is to
prevent the deaths from the particular diseases and influence the people to aware about their
health and well being(Pandit, N. and Chhaya, J., 2018).

It is a services of decentralized which is not only famous for their work on the cost
effectiveness and also improves patients experiences. Decentralized of services was continued
help to improves the integration care across setting. Private primary care hospitals are helps to
improves the chronic diseases and also provides general medical check-ups(Sayan, N.Ö.M.,
2022).

It is one of the medicine which is taken to prevent HIV and it is known to be highly
effective in preventing HIV. In addition to this, it is known to reduce the overall risk of HIV
about ninety-nine percent. It can also be said that PrEP is known to protect against HIV whereas
Condom is essential for protection against STDs. Hence, the use of condom is also significant to
support prevent HIV if PrEP is not taken as prescribed. It is safe but some people have some side
effected too such as diarrhoea, headache, nausea, fatigue stomach pain and many
others(Neuberger, J., 2021).

The Maltese life expectancy rate is higher as most of the people spend about most of the life span
in the good health. The healthcare system in this region comprises of a public sector which is

said to be free at the time of service(Grima, K.B., Bezzina, P. and Rainford, L., 2018). It also
provides all type of health services for the population but there are various issues which are faced
by the ageing population due to financial and infrastructural limitations (Ryder, 2019). In
relation to the healthcare system, it is defined as the plan of care which comprises about the
needs of the individual. As health system works for the public as various segments of the
population are struggling with their health challenges. At most of the places in Malta, the staff
performance review is one of the process which makes sure to enhance the level of quality in
recognising excellence and bringing new opportunities for further improvement. Under which
the regular feedback is provided for betterment of the employees and it brings the value of
transparency in the working among the employees and operations of the health care. The
companies can also discuss about the regular feedback given in the moment is main to employee
development and the overall development.

There are many issues are created in the risk management in healthcare, Risk
management cycle have tendency to identify and analyses the risk in healthcare sectors of Malta.
Some of the risk management are mentioned below:
Established the context
Established the context, which means that to identify the particular problem or situation
in which the risk is occurs and creates the problem into the organization.
Identify risks
In this step to identifies the particular risk in the particular situation that can affects the
healthcare environment.
Analyse and Evaluate the risk
Analysing and evaluate risk is to understanding the level of healthcare risk and also
helpful in identifying the causes through which the risk is generated and evaluate it, how much
the risk is implemented in the particular situation.
Treat/manage risks
Treatment and manages the risk is that when the new policy is implemented in order to
manages the risk that can be treated and manages according to the new policy of management.

 The treatment administered in the patients of dementia in order to patient residential care
or home setting that can vary on the domestic care and with the help of domiciliary
nursing that can generates many risk factors like the dementia patients have loose the
ability to thinking and remembering that can affects the dosing of the patients and the
major risk is generated that the patients care is not proper monitoring and also chances of
many hazardous things or miss happening in the kitchen related to the gas cylinder and
many more(Ezhova, I. and et. al, 2020). The nursing equipments are not proper available
in context to medical treatment, there are many medical tools which can helps to the
treatment of the patients.
 The overall medical sector runs on the legal bases that can follows many guidelines to
treatment of the patient. In order to dementia patient care at home, There are several
guidelines of the medical councils that must follows by the medical staff or nurses while
giving treatment or care to the patients. There are also many necessity things that comes
under legal requirement are nursing team, patient care, expertise to manage the patients,
medical staff must have experience regarding patient treatment or dementia patients.
 In order to treatment of the dementia patients in which the supply of care regarding the
patients centric in which the nursing staff should aware about the care of the patients, and
also influences in engaging into the activities that can improves the condition of the
patients. To provides the dose timely and also take care of their physical activity and
many more(Cuschieri, 2020).
 The plan is to handles the affective risk management, There are five steps that can helps
to implements the plan in affective risk management. These are mentioned below-
To identify the potential risk; Evaluate and assessment of the potential risk; Assign ownership in
every potential risk; To creates preemptive responses and continuously monitor risk(Gobbi,
2022).
Conclusion
From the above information it can be summarized that Sustainable Development goal is
for to resolves the public health issues. In this report highlighted the Sexual transmitted diseases,
which can be transmitted widely in the Malta. This report also explained about PrEP.
