limited effectiveness

development.
The sustainable development is refers to as a organizing principle for meeting the human
development goals while simultaneously sustaining the natural system ability to provide the
natural resources as well as ecosystem services over which the society and economy depends. It
basically mean with the process of meeting the need of present generation without compromising
over the requirement of the future generation in term of their survival (Smith and et. al., 2014).
Hence it can be said that the sustainability development is very helpful to the growth and
development of the society as it put emphases toward the catering the need of people by
switching the operations with natural resources to perform a particular action. This brings up
several benefits to the society in term of providing them benefits and keeping the natural
resources save for the future generation too.
The globe is facing a strong evolution because of advancement in information and
communication which leads to development of several different technology in term of increasing
the productivity that are related with the development of several products or services to enhance
the living standard of people and resolving the issues they are facing. These all require the
performance of activities that are related with team work, sourcing, networking, de-localisation
and subcontracting. These all require the consumption of huge energy to perform the operations
in effective manner that leads to making use of more and more energy which is continuously
minimising the sources that are also being required by future generations as their requirement in
term of energy remains relatively higher as compare to the current society. Additionally, these
human activities have a harmful and irreversible environmental impact and also carries the
notion of environmental limits (Devine-Wright, 2014). Therefore, in reducing the environmental
impact the concept of sustainability development get introduced which support in arranging and
managing the resources in such a manner that natural energy can be consumed by the people in
order to perform day to day operations. But the concept of sustainable development is only
become valid and remain beneficial for the society when it is accessible to all people living in
society despite of any particular range of people. This is so because when the renewable energy

is not accessible to all then it won't be able to present effective result. This is the reason the
sustainable development is being criticised by the people within the society as there are number
of factors available which not make the renewable energy accessible to all the people.
A great example of sustainable development is Solar farm in UK which is established to
harvest the larger amount of solar energy at a time. These areas are basically created through
which the solar energy can feed directly to the national grid as opposed to the solar panels that
support in providing power to the single home or building. As the data recorded from these it has
been evaluated that there are 426 solar farms that are located within UK among them majority of
farms are available within the North Wales. These parks are extended within the 250 acre sites
that are having the total capacity of 72.2 megawatts and each of them contribute toward
minimising the CO2 emission by 202000 tonnes which help in powering over 11000 homes

production within the country is quite manageable and if it further get increased then it support in
managing the work with the help of renewable energy.
Positive contribution
The solar energy production brings several kind of positive contribution within the
country and the operations performed which depict the importance of renewable energy within
the development of society. These positive contribution are mentioned below:
Reduced energy bills:- When the homeowners install the solar panels in their home then
they have the chance of generating their own electricity for free. On the other side when the
home owners entered within the government's Feed In tariff scheme the energy suppliers started
paying for the electricity generated per unit. This in turn support in improving the economical
condition too.
Providing flexibility of energy access:- The solar power is ideal for those that are living
within the remote area where access to national grid is very much difficult. The Solar Panels can
be used for generating the electricity in any location which have a direct access with the sunlight
by making it effective way of generating the energy (Prasad and Snow, 2014).
Help in reducing CO2 emission:- Like other kind of renewable energy the solar power
is entirely clean which does not release any kind of harmful pollutant or emission by reducing
the use of fossil fuel that reduce the power energy. In UK it help in reducing around 1.2 to 1.7
tonnes per year as 80000 homes are using Solar PV panels.

Barriers to implementation
Despite of number of benefit that solar panel installation provide there are certain barriers
which restrict the implementation of solar panels. These barriers are mentioned below:
Expensive installation:- Though the cost of solar panel get reduced by 70% in year
2010 but still the solar panel installation are very much expensive. As for installing the panels
over the roof of house require the house owners to spend thousands of pound for the panels,
their installation cost and equipments. Hence it is consider as major barrier which restrict the
installation of solar panel and so affect the sustainable development.
Solar power generation is unreliable and inefficient: - Since UK is not blessed with
the sunny climate, solar panels are somewhat restricted to amount of power it usually generate.
As a result of which when the sun sets or during rainy days the panels get ceased to function and
as the electricity is expensive and very much difficult to store the backup source is needed in
order to get light while mid night (Kousksou and et. al., 2015). Therefore, this is the major
barrier which restrict the people to install the solar panel and as a result of which it is not
possible to generate high amount of renewable energy for the consumption.
These are the major barriers which restrict the society to give their 100% contribution
toward the plans and policies of government that are related with the sustainability development.
As a result of which it is not become possible to fix such practices as the main source of
generation as well as consumption of energy in order to reduce the impact over environment
while ensuring the development of the society.
Critiques of international policy frameworks
There are number of efforts being put by the government in order to promote the
sustainability development throughout the world for the enhancement as well as improvement of
the society by providing them a natural source for satisfying their consumption need in term of
energy. So that the sources can be generated to improve life and health being of future
generations while keeping the natural resources secure for future. The national as well as
international government and organisations are increasingly concerned about the climate change
caused due to fossil fuel, energy security, energy poverty and future supply of energy. In order to
meet with the need of these factor the government is making their efforts toward creating a
source of renewable energy in order to reduce the negative impact over environment and bring
the positive outcome toward the sustainability development (Policy Framework for Solar Power,

2019). The framework of sustainability development is Green Rhino energy. It is a management

are involve in development of clean energy especially with photovoltaic, tidal and wind energy.
The government has established this organisation in order to provide access to the valid advice
for proper management of energy generation device in order to produce best possible result. But
this is not remains a solution to barriers that people mainly face while installing the solar panels
to generate energy. This is the reason the Green Rhino organisation is performing its operation
well but still the framework which used by the government is being criticised (The RhinoEnergy
Home, 2019). As the major point of criticism is that the government has formulated several
policies in order to promote the solar energy production as a step toward the sustainable
development but the major issue is that it required more investment. This is so because the
people have to pay off the amount in order to purchase those solar PV panel, their installation
charges and maintenance cost as well which is relatively higher. In addition to this they become
able to avail the benefit of these solar energy only after it get installed and started producing
energy but its installation cost is to be arrange by them only at the beginning which is very
difficult. Hence it restrict or act as a barrier for making the sustainable development is available
to all and because of which the government framework are being criticised.
