Sustainable Energy2|P a g e Reflective Report Smart and Liveable city There are so many challenges in converting urban areas to the smart cities. Most of the countries are changing with the technologies. Still, so many things are not implemented in the urban areas because of few reasons, such as less understanding, lack of knowledge, cost effective, and less knowledge about the sustainable engineering(Giffinger & Gudrunace, 2010). I learnt about the six key dimensions of smart cities from the activities of the workshop, which are following: Smart people Smart Economy Smart Mobility Smart Environment Smart living style Smart Governance All these things are so necessary for the smart cities in the future. In that workshop, different actives are providing lots of information about the smart cities. All information is useful for me and it was a nice way of learning for me. I learnt about the different attributes of the smart city’s from those activities, which are following: Smart city Intelligent city Sustainable city Knowledgeable city City 2.0 Creative city Digital city Innovative city Universal city
Sustainable Energy3|P a g e All are different attributes of a smart city. I also learnt about the difference between the smart and liveable city versus intelligent cities. There are few differences in the both cities that, synchronization of the information technology with the social infrastructure is converted into smart and liveable city, rather than an intelligent system is handling different works of human beings(Kosowatz, 2017). Smart Accommodation for Students: It was an intelligent idea that a university area converted for the accommodation for students with the latest technologies, such as Internet of Things (IoT). IoT is nothing but a integration of embedded systems with Internet. It is a highly secure and advanced technology, which is used artificial intelligence and machine learning for the different works. In that case, I learnt about the sustainable resources for the building design and facilities for the students. I had an awesome experience from the workshop – 1’s activities. There are many things matters a lot for the development of smart cities. According to Eger, different communities are having their cultural, ethnic, and artistic diversity. From new information infrastructures, they can create a new age. Creative peoples are generating new patents and innovations for the society. In 21st century, all cities are less with the economic, social, and political viability(Cohen, 2012). I learnt about the smart cities from thatvideo.Small residences are growing fast in coming years. Therefore, there are so many challenges in front of engineers to maintain facilities according to those changes. I learnt about the integrity of human with the technologies in a right manner. Sustainabilityandintegrationmakesadifferentcity, whichisliveablewithaproper environment. I also learnt about the city of the future. There are so many ideas for converting a city into a smart city based on the characteristics of the city. Engineers are working on the sustainable engineering for managing different resources in the smart cities. Proper arrangements of resource make a city smarter. There is basic need for converting the source to the useful assets for the smart city(Willke, 2007). There are so many innovations for creating an accommodation for the students in the university areas, such as online library.
