INTRODUCTIONSustainable leadership is normally defined as the behaviours, systems, and other practiceswhich endure the values of stockholders, environment, future generations and the communityand also the other species. It is the actions and behaviours that an organisation embraces with aview to recognise its connection with a planet and humanity thus it will lead a positive impactand positive effects on the environment and social change. Organisations business practiceshelps in reducing of the operational expenses and also improves the relations of stakeholders,also increases the profitability of an organisation and will also result in competitive advantageover others. Thorough Sustainable Leadership, leaders of an organisation often manage theorganisation towards the society, environment, communities etc with long term goals in theirmind(Bruno, R. and Abbott, J.-A. M 2015). A sustainable leadership brings the balance inmeeting the organisational goals and also improving the social and environmental problems at aglobal level. In short it is the way of maintaining the financial performance of the organisationwith adding benefits to the society and to the environment at large.Main Body There are various objectives while adopting sustainable leadership related to the people,profits of an organisation, and the environment in which the organisation operates. Sustainableleadership are mostly led by the CEOs who take the responsibilities of the sustainable leadership.The companies in which the CEOs and higher officials takes the responsibility of bringing thesustainability in the organisation tastes success by adopting various sustainability strategies.Sustainable leadership was put forward by United Nations World commission in 1987 with anagenda to guide and improve the world environment and global development(Brown, S. L andet.al., 2017). There has been increase in the demand from the stake holders (shareholders,society, government, employees etc) to implement proper management practices which keeps thebalance of an organisation both internally and externally. Stakeholders have been demandingbetter economic performances from the organisation and also to keep on contributing to societyand the environment by adhering the responsible organisational practices. Thus this has led tothe growth of Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), Sustainable management and BusinessEthics . They have become vital part in formulating the organisation strategies.
