Introduction
The main aim of the plastic collective is to fundamentally reduce the waste plastics in
inaccessible societies for the purpose of empowering people to observe innovative economies for
their communities. The solution of the plastic collective is based on some pillars such as
empowering people with efficient knowledge develop with reliable tools and machinery and
invent new materials as well as designs and these can be done via the Shruder machine. The
company has a number of chances to reduce plastic waste (Wilson, Zeithaml, Bitner and
Gremler, 2012). The main mission of this organization is to motivate societies by developing
plastic waste internationally. It is vital for the organization to run its operation in an effective
manner by considering the application of plastic as well as the recyclable resources. This would
be helpful for the company in order to develop the economic situation of Australia. Furthermore,
it is required by the organization to concentrate on recycling operations and development of
effectiveness of business operation in order to get the upper level of benefits and for making a
good image in the view of the marketers. This report will be elaborated the planning, leading,
organizing and controlling the wrong practices related to the sustainability of the Plastic
Collective.
Background
Louise Hardman is the founder of the plastic collective company that has provided the methods
to develop plastic waste into variable resources. Louise developed Plastic Collective in 2016 to
generate the Shruder-waste plastics, different kind of educational training packages and the
expulsion machine for remote societies. Louise won an award in the sustainability for wasting
less and reducing more (Plastic collective, 2018). The mission of the organization is to prevent

the environment by molding the plastic waste into the resources. It has been found that Louise
put lots of effort into exploring the methods which help the company to change the plastic waste
of ocean into the resources. Moreover, it is explored that initially the name of the company was
Pacific Collective but later it is considered as the Plastic Collective. The major aim of this
company is to reduce the plastic waste from the remote areas because it would be assisted in
securing the atmosphere from the polluted ocean. It is a good initiative from that company that
has generated the jobs in Australia in waste management. It is required for the company to move
ahead by taking consideration of the same objective to reduce the impact of plastic on the
environment and for this company should conduct the training program.
It is required for every company to focus on the attractive products as well as in the services in
the worldwide market. Plastic Collective Company is focused on saving the life of the people by
reducing the impact of plastic waste globally.
Sustainability issues
There are many countries all over the world that contribute in increasing the most waste and
these countries are the UK, US & Australia that have a medium average plastic consumption rate
of 50 to 70 kg per person yearly. The plenty of concerns regarding the sustainability are being
managed by Plastic Collective which has been elaborated below:
The negative impact of Tourism
Tourism is another major concern for the company. It has been found that the role of the graphic
effects from the plastic pollution on marine and the waterways are not healthy to tourism. Plastic
waste is a problematic concern in the areas of tourism, majorly those on the coastcan have
effectively negative influences on both the marine and the landscape environment. it has been

found from the study of environmental consultancy Eunomia Research &Consultancy that 80%
of 12 million tonnes of plastic involving the marine every year (Miezah, Obiri-Danso, Kádár,
Fei-Baffoe and Mensah, 2015). Hence, this can lead to a refuse in the income level with
revenues. There are a number of sea animals get hurt or died due to consuming the portion of
plastic.
Collection and Infrastructure
The collection of the waste of plastic from remote localities has become the major issue for the
companies. The transportation cost would be expensive in such area which would increase the
cost for the company. Along with that the support from those area’s people are difficult that
increase the difficulties for the company. At present, with respect to sustainability issue, the
company is facing the issue of shortage of energy and waste in developing countries (Carter and
Rogers, 2008). There is a lack of effective infrastructure for collection which has become the
major cause of ineffective plastic waste disposal.
Wildlife and habitat impact
It has been found that the hazardous consequences of plastic on aquatic life are accelerating and
devastating. The influences of plastic waste on health and the environment are become cleared.
Hazardous chemicals are entailed in the plastic manufacturing that has been included in the
specific properties like Bisphenol A and flame retardants. The impact of these chemicals has
negative impact on the health of the animal. Along with that, there are toxic monomers that can
be the reason for cancer and reproductive issues.

Economic impact
Waste plastic pollution has become the major concern for the world and it has been analyzed that
the real cost of waste plastic pollution has been determined at $13 billion per year in tourism,
health, shipping, wildlife and habitats (Lindström, Nilsson, Parida, Sjödin and Ylinenpää, 2015).
Community health and safety issues
This issue is an enormous issue that is being faced by the organization and because of the
burning of plastics, incredible health and safety issues are handled by the company at the time of
operating. Along with that, it has been found that the dumping of the plastic motivates unsanitary
situations and increased the issues and risks as well with respect the human consumption.
Sustainability strategies
It has been found that plastic has become the major concern for the world that impacts not only
the health of the animals and human beings but also affects the entire world. it is required for the
organization to entail various strategies that should be linked with the sustainability (Gold,
Seuring and Beske, 2010). It would be helpful in improving the issues regarding sustainability in
minimum time. The sustainability strategies are mentioned below:
Minimizing Waste
It has been found that the high extent of plastics have generated by households with construction
by which the large area of the population could get affected. It is required for the company to
keep the focus on the minimization of the waste and develops huge environmental influence. The

government of each country should focus on the right use of the plastics for which the following
points can be considered:
Avoid the use of a plastic water bottle
Reduce the use of canned foods
Carry steel container for avoiding the use of the plastic
Prefer packaging of paper
Avoid plastic encased lighters and use matches
Use rechargeable batteries in order to decrease the food waste
Reduced use of plastics
It has been found that the plastic pollution can be decreased by taking use of the less products
related to the plastic and they need to switch to other options. It has been investigated that
approximately 1 trillion plastic bags are taken into use worldwide which shows the use of plastic
bag one million per minute (Vegter, et. al., 2014). However, various initiatives have been taken
by the government time to time but it is necessary for the government of the country to focus on
this strategy significantly.
Recycling
Recycling is one of the effective solutions among the remaining solutions which are the most
convenient way. However, there isa number of techniques to involve by the government
programs that run by the environmental organizations. The technique of recycling handles the
tones of plastic waste. For the purpose of improving the smarter plastics that form the convention
plastic, it is required for the government to handle with massive quantities of toxic wastes that

already out there and being the major reason of hurting people and animal (Brindley and
Oxborrow, 2014).
Sustainability practices
Plastics offer unmatched advantages in the form of the packaging material and this is because of
the light weight of the plastics that offer marvelous hurdle properties. Because of this kind of
properties the items of packaging in plastics considerably decrease the waste and save energy.
The use of more plastics in the world can become the major reason for big diseases. It is required
forthe suitable practices to involve sustainable material management, planning at every stage,
collaborating wherever possible, objecting to avoid the landfills. It is needed for the company to
keep the focus on environmental issues such as renewable resources for energy and developing
healthy food (Jones, 2017). The main aim of the company is to handle the resources and denies
the footprint of the environment of the company. Along with that, the company can make use of
the collection and treatment strategies that focus on developing the less wastage. The company
can entail various activities like convening, collecting, processing and managing for the purpose
of assessing the various material of different plastic. It is vital to evaluate the sustainability in
order that the company deals with the wastage of the plastic in an effective manner in spite of
abandonment it in landfills (Wesselink, Blok, van Leur, Lans and Dentoni, 2015).
Sustainability theories
Zero Waste Theory
It is the theory that facilitates to assess the significant aspect and new way with respect to the
achievement of sustainability. This element is considered as the basis that reduces the
competence with protecting the wastage in order to address sustainability. Plastic Collective

Company has potential to facilitate the economically, ethically and visionary guides the
workforce in order to transform their lifestyle for the purpose of maintaining sustainability. Zero
waste is the philosophy that motivates the redesign of the selective resources of life cycles for the
purpose of reusing all products (Glass, Pearse and Nanchahal, 2009). This theory entails
eliminating waste by recycling and reuse, the main focus of this theory is on reconstructing
production and distribution system in order to decrease the waste. The practice of zero waste is
referring the way of attaining the more efficiency by taking consideration of the use of resources.
With the help of this theory, the plastic collective can reduce the impact of plastic on the human,
plant and animal health as well.
Balance Theory
Balance theory is another theory of the sustainable that has the intention to refuse the destruction
of plastic wastage for the aim of elaborating the mode to make it worthy. It has been analyzed
that the balance of waste regarding the demands and the plastic supply linked with the recycled
waste material. This theory is the attitude change theory and with the help of this theory,
company can motivate people to minimize the use of plastic so that the impact of them can be
reduced simultaneously (Wu, Liao, Tseng and Chiu, 2016). The role of the balance theory in
setting up a successful implementation of the Plastic Collective management is enormous as it
helps in attaining high balance ration. It has been found that this strategy relies on the consumers,
government,and industry.
Functions of Plastic collective organization
Role of planning

and objectives of the company as it is the methods by which organization would be able to make
a decision systematically (Lazarevic, Aoustin, Buclet and Brandt, 2010). Planning helps Plastic
Collective to get the opportunity for the aim of offering sustainable improvement in the context
of the local waste management practices. Planning is a necessaryto process that helps in
investigating those applications of Greenhouse Gas to decide with respect to the climate change.
Role of organizing
The plastic collective company focuses on organizing the recycling of plastic waste resource for
the purpose of reducing the population. It is necessary for the company to avoid the unhygienic
atmospheres.
Role of leading
The role of the leading in Plastic Collective Company is significant as the leader of the company
focus on proposed strategies in order to reduce the impact of plastic on the environment. it is
required for the management of the company to lead the team in an effective manner by
describing the policies and their role in performing the task (Rigamonti, Grosso, Møller,
Sanchez, Magnani and Christensen, 2014). There are a number of local bodies and municipalities
Role of control
The company can control the waste of the plastic by distinguishing the waste at home and use
them by taking observation of recycling. Hence, it could be advantageous for reducing the
consequences of pollution. It is easy to make policies and strategies but it is hard to manage them
in a sophisticated manner (Jones, 2017). Plastic Collective should focus on those elements which

Recommendations
It has been recommended to the organization to focus on a number of activities like recycling,
environmental cost, packaging and sustainable energy as it would be effective for the completion
of the organizational task. Along with that there are other approaches which can be adopted by
the company in a significant manner such as Biodegradable plastics, BioplasticsandPolymer
Blended Bitumen Roads. Biodegradable plastics is the process that is similar to conventional
plastics in all factors with the additional features of being capable to generally decay and break
into safe by-products. There is another option of the bioplastic that is constructed partly or
entirely obtained from biological sources like potato starch, sugarcane and cotton. It has been
found that there are some plastics which can be degraded in the open air (Al-Maaded, Madi,
Kahraman, Hodzic and Ozerkan, 2012).
The company should focus on the latest technology to reduce the impact of the plastic over the
world and this technology can be used to recycle the plastic.
Along with that, the company should involve in the campaigning program for the purpose of
increasing the awareness of hazardous situation due to plastic pollution.
The company should make the tips for safer use of plastic and it should be spread around the
world through social media so that people get to know about that.
Conclusion
