INTRODUCTION
Sustainable organizations are referred as the businesses which aims at fulfilling their
environmental responsibility by adopted several changes in the current business strategy. These
changes may be effective for a business to reduce the negative impact of an organization on the
environment and provide the society with a better experience of the business. Sustainability is a
significant factor for a business in order to achieve growth in the industry by reducing the extra
costs incurred by the organization which is helpful to increase its opportunities.
The current case study will be based on Bio-bean which is an effective organization which
recycles waste grounds of coffee into advanced bio fuels. It is the first coffee waste recycling
organization in the world which is based in the UK. This case study will explain the importance
of sustainable innovations by using real examples such as bio-bean and a reflective document
which will show how to comply with ideas of sustainability.

Sustainable innovation considers adopting several changes in the products and services of
an organization which may help a business to increase their short term and long term benefits in
the industry. Organizations may be able to invent and innovate several products and services
with the help of this aspect which may help them to achieve sustainability in the competitive
environment. Bio-bean is a new venture which has developed eco-friendly biofuel by recycling
the remains of coffee waste (Abbas and et.al., 2020). This bio fuel may be helpful for powering
the double decker buses of London and reduce the carbon footprint in the environment. This
innovative idea may give a start to several different innovations in the industry which will be
beneficial for the future generations to get the required resources and improve their stability. The
business may also prepares eco–friendly products with the help of these coffee grounds such as
coffee pellets and coffee logs which are good alternatives to heavy fuels such as imported wood
logs and coal briquettes.
This innovative strategy of the business is considered as suitable for the environment and
helps in saving the crucial scarce resources of the environment with the help of innovative ideas.

The organization collects coffee remains from many restaurants, coffee shops and factories in
order to recycle them and prepare bio-fuels which are beneficial for the eco system. These bio
fuels are organically made and have less impact on the environment which is a positive factor
considered by the business to achieve sustainability in the industry. This process is useful for
manage the waste that is being released on a daily basis in the world and find natural ways to
produce bio-fuels that are considered as better alternatives to the fossil fuels.
Sustainable innovations are significant for the environment due to the extension of natural
resources which may create difficulties for the future generations to successfully operate in the
global environment. There are several factors which may be beneficial for individuals which may
have a positive impact on the business (Adomako and Nguyen, 2020). It may be useful for the
business to attract more customers with the help of sustainable innovations as it provides new
products and services to the customers which offers sustainable living. The business may be able
to build an effective image among the customers and increase their engagement towards gaining
the services of the business.
Bio-bean has developed an innovative idea which will be helpful to provide maintain the
environmental sustainability. The organization may be able to gain competitive advantage in the
industry due to this innovative idea as the customers might prefer the products and services
which are offered by this organization. It helps in increasing the productivity of the business the
business is working with an aim to transform waste into productive outcome. With the help of
these practices the business is able to increase its profitability and have better stability in the
market. Bio-bean is able to reduce its costs of resourcing raw materials and operating business
due to its sustainable approach toward the conducting the business activities.
The organization has been benefited by adopting sustainable innovation in their business
which is useful in order to get better response from the customers and increase their interest
towards the company. The materials which were previously considered as waste are used by the
business to create bio-fuels which are useful to improve the economic and environment condition
of the region (Adomako, 2020). This idea may be adopted by different other businesses which
may increase usage of these waste product and benefit the governments to reduce global
warming. Sustainable innovation is different from the traditional innovation as it provides the
present generation with the desired outcome without compromising the requirements of the
future generations. The organization which seeks innovative approach sustainability may not be

An appropriate system of thinking and decision making is required in developing sustainable
innovations which are offered by the organization. The innovators analyse the different aspects
of the business environment and prepare appropriate strategies which aims at reducing the

The business have conducted appropriate research for finding the suitable ways of
preparing bio-fuels from the coffee waste. This research provides better assistance to the

the due support by the governments which is a positive factor for a business to improve their
stability in the market. They may provide various subsidies from the business that may be helpful
for appropriately conducting the operations of the business (Bacinello, Tontini and Alberton,
2020). The organization may be able to attract the investors to make a contribution in the
innovative project. This will be helpful for the organization to grow and increase its
opportunities in the business appropriately. With the help of the desired investment from
different sources the business may be able to enhance their services and gain competitive

advantage in the industry. These significant factors may have a positive impact on the business in
increasing its developmental opportunities in the business.
Bio-bean is a responsible organization which is able to reduce the wastage from coffee by
producing effective bio-fuels from this waste and providing a sustainable environment to the
people. These efforts provide better value to the environment and focuses on increasing its
sustainability in the world. Sustainable innovations are a crucial part for the development of the
current organizations in order to provide better assistance to the future generations (Cillo and
et.al., 2019). This practice may help them to improve their performance in the industry and gain
better competitive advantage. This is important for the organization to grow and improve their
brand image in the industry by increasing their sustainable practices for the development for the
environment.
PART B
Sustainability is a concept which must be adopted by people in order to improve their future
and have the required resources which are necessary for living. I have a positive approach
towards life and I like saving the resources and making optimum use of them in order to reduce
the waste and increase its productivity. I always try to save the resource which are available to
me for future use. This approach is helpful for me to increase sustainability in my life and gain
better advantage in the future. In order to increase the sustainability of the environment, I will
adopt certain practices like recycling and reusing goods. It is an appropriate process to make an
effective use of things again and again and reducing the wastage in the environment (Mousavi,
Bossink and van Vliet, 2019). I will try to adapt this thinking in my life and try to make effective
changes in my current approach towards working.
This will be an important factor to conserve the important resources that are present in the
environment and provide a better future for the next generation. By using sustainable ideas, I will
be able to give my contribution towards the environment by improving its quality and save it
from the inappropriate practices. I will try to save energy and use bio-fuels in order to save the
fossil fuels such as petrol, diesel etc. which have a negative impact on the environment. These
fuels are scarce in the environment and exert more pollution when they are burned in the
environment (Costa and Matias, 2020). Due to release of this pollution in the environment there
are various environmental impacts such as climate change and global warming which needs to

considered in order to improve sustainability. I will focus on saving water and other natural
resources which are crucial for existence of living beings on the planet. Water is a necessity
which needs to be conserved in order to have a sustainable life ahead. I will try to make
consistent efforts towards saving water and increasing the prosperity for the environment. I will
avoid wastage of paper which is made from cutting of trees on a daily basis.
Trees are essential part of the ecosystem, which needs to be saved in order to have stability
in the environment (Hernandez-Vivanco, Bernardo and Cruz-Cázares, 2018). I will try to adopt
paperless approach and save the crucial resource of the environment which provides better
quality of air for the living beings. These efforts will be made by me in order to make effective
changes in my life style and increasing the sustainability ion the environment. These sustainable
ideas will be helpful to improve my contribution towards this change and will provide me with
better assistance to fulfil my duty towards the nature. I will apply this approach consistently for
experiencing effective changes in the environment and increase my chances of achieving growth
in the industry. The sustainable ideas will provide me with support in order to achieve efficiency
while performing tasks in the future.
CONCLUSION
According to the above case study, it has been concluded that organizations have been able
to improve their stability with the help of sustainable innovations for their organizations. These
innovations are beneficial for companies to make effective changes in their organizational
framework and improve their growth and developmental opportunities in the industry. With the
help of sustainable ideas, different business have been able to provide their contribution towards
reducing the amount of waste in the environment. It is significant for the business to make
effective changes ibn their approach towards business which may have a positive impact on the
sustainability of the environment. Sustainable innovations are important for controlling the
harmful impact of the climate change and global warming on the world. It has provided better
alternatives for customers in order to improve their satisfaction levels. The governments have
provided better support to the organization which is related with sustainable innovations in order
to increase the stability in the climate conditions.
