Introduction
Tourism is one of the crucial fields that contribute in growth and development of the
whole nation. Sustainable and responsible tourism is important for the growth of tourism
destinations in an efficient manner. Responsible tourism is related to taking responsibility to
develop sustainable tourism and addressing the different issues related to the tourism (Sharpley,
2018). In the present report London has been selected as a tourist destination. It is one of the
popular tourism destinations at global level. The city attracted huge number of tourists each and
every year. The meltings pot of culture, nationalities and languages make the city attractive. In
addition, it is also known for the restaurants, pubs, clubs and more. Main aim of the present
study is to understand the dynamics of sustainable and responsible tourism. It will cover the
concept of sustainable tourism along with role, function and mission of leading global
organization engaged in development of sustainable tourism. In addition, purpose and principle
of tourism development and the process, challenges associated with the tourism development
will also discuss in the following report. Further, it will include impact of tourism activity on
economic, environmental and socio-cultural aspects of the tourism destination. Additionally,
implementation of principles of sustainable tourism and the way to evolve as well as manage
sustainability at tourism destinations have also been included in the following assignment.

P1) Concept of sustainable and responsible tourism has evolved
The idea of sustainability is related to conserve the destination in terms of culture, beauty
and other aspects. It is important in order to protect the environment. With the increasing
environmental disruption, people are more conscious about environmental wellbeing. In this
situation, there is major focus on development of sustainable tourism. It helps in minimizing the
negative impacts of tourism activities on the environment (Kunnikom, Muneenam and Sukmag,
2020). Sustainable tourism assist in maximizing economic and social advantages for the host
nations that will further minimize the adverse impact on the environment and also help in

jobs and enhancing the income constantly. In context of the respective destination, they are
highly concern regarding the development of sustainable and responsible tourism. In this context,
certain crucial elements are briefly explained below:

the increasing number of tourists, the source of income for the country is enhancing that will

to deal with the negative influence caused by tourism industry.
