Introduction
Sustainable tourism is the concept in which people visit some
places for the purpose of entertainment, education, shopping,
nourishment, etc. and emphasise on giving positive impact on
environment and economy of particular country. Tourism
development is one of the effective tool for economic
development, conserving diversity, preserving culture, creating
employment, etc.

Concept of sustainability in tourism
development
Sustainability means study of natural resources in order to
maintain effectiveness of resources for future use. This is the
important concept which helps to maintain delegency of
resources.
Sustainability principles refer to the environmental, economic,
and socio-cultural aspects of tourism development.

 Brundtland Report (1987)-According to this report, global
environmental problems are result of poverty.
 Triple Bottom Line- In 1990, this concept was launched to
overall development of economy.
 World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC)- This council
focus on corporate social responsibility also.

Some factors which affects tourism of Qatar in negative as well as
positive way are:
 Infrastructure- If basic facilities at public tourism places of
Qatar does not haver good infrastructure, then there is impact
on tourism business.
 Interdependence of society- There is important role of native
people in tourism sector. They provide knowledge related to
famous place, religion, culture, belief, etc.

Natural resources- Natural resources includes rain, vegetation,
forests, etc. These are some essential components which
affects tourism business.
Participation of citizen- Local people are important components
in tourism business.

Different stages in planning for
sustainability
Planning is one of the important aspects which has to be
considered by Qatar Tourism Authority. This is the basis
element which proves effective and relevant for emerging
tourist destination as Qatar. In Qatar, there are many events of
games so there is rush of tourist. In this case, planning is one
of the essential component.

Stages of planning which has to be considered by Qatar Tourism
Authority are-
Phase1: In first step, there is discussion about actions which has
to be taken in order to analysis short or long term benefit
which has to attain.
Phase2: After analysis targets, plan has to be made how it can be
attained.

Phase3- In this stage, identification of stakeholders which gets
affected because of sustainable tourism development.
Phase4- In this stage, issues which faced by stakeholders has to
be resolved.

Phase5: After identification of causes of conflict. Actions are
taken to resolve it.
Phase6- At last guidelines are provided to stakeholders in order
to maintain good and provide constant and frequent
development of economy of country.

Conclusion
From the above discussion it is clear that tourism management is
one of the important concept which has to be undertaken by
tour operators. Economic, environmental and social factors are
considered in sustainable development of tourism.
