INTRODUCTION
Sustainable tourism refers to an industry that is committed to developing minimum affect
on local culture as well as environment, while assessing to to generate the future employment for
people of local society. Sustainable tourism assures that development is positive experience to
the local people, visitors and tourism organisations. In this modern era, travel and tourism sector
plays a necessary role in society. The each individual like to travel the different as well as
attractive places. People travel for many different reasons like enjoy, business, study etc. This
present report is based on the Qatar Case Study. This country has a rich culture and hosts almost
80 sports events on annual basis (Aldebert, Dang and Longhi, 2011). International Tourism
Consultancy is specialised in developing the master plan for tourism development for attraction
places in all over the world. Under this mention report, discuss about the benefits and
disadvantages of private or public sector tourism planning partnership. Importance of an
interactive planning systems as well as processes in tourism development related to Qatar will be
mention.

2.1 Features of tourism development planning at different levels
Travel industry is rapidly developing sector in world and also provides many advantages
to an economy of country. At the time of develop better tourism planning, it is necessary to
recognise various levels which are related with travel industry. There are various levels in which
tourism development take place in a nation (Ashworth and Page, 2011). It largely depends on the
government and legislation policy of that country. In Qatar this is identifies in national
development strategy (2011-2016) which is a part of their vision for 2030. Features of tourism
development planning at various levels given below:
International level- For develop tourism sector at international level, UNESCO and
WTO both provide different guidelines for further improvements. In international level there
are various organisations which are boosting the demand for Qatar as tourist destination.

These organisations work in field of creating demand for Qatar as tourist destination (Bennett,
Lemelin, Koster and Budke, 2012).
National level- At national there are planning authority and government department who
take cares of tourism at Qatar. Under this, private and public both firms support to travel sector
through executing the many strategies at national level. The focus of private and public firms on
advertising, cleanliness, proper maintenance of tourist site, accommodations and safety of
tourist.
Local level- Under this, specific tourist destination plays necessary role to attract
individuals. These agencies keep the records of tourist, their feedback and the availability of the
products and services (Bramwell, 2011). Tourism sector facilities proper accommodation,
transport, food and security are under local level authority.
2.2 Significance of interactive planning systems and processes
Developing tourism of country will bring many problems like congestion, overcrowding,
environmental damages etc. In this, it is significant to have better interactive planning in order to
developing a sector. Its main focus on develop future plan which can provide some benefits. An
interactive planning systems gaining popularity day by day as it is an essential technique to
create competitive advantage over other in tourism industry at international level. An interactive
planning is regarded as other kind of planning such as proactive planning, reactive and inactive
planning. The main focus of interactive planning is on current condition. Interactive planning
systems helps in enhance number of tourist in the country it should not bring any inconvenience
or difficulties for local public (Brinkerhoff and Brinkerhoff, 2011). Under this, firms tries to
make themselves more effective as well as better so that they can get the better rewards in the
future. Importance of interactive planing in Qatar given below:
Under this, better decisions are to be taken through government through included all
those individuals which are living in coastal areas and in that place where development of
an infrastructure continuously.
Deficiency to meet an environmental benchmark can be determined immediately which
will aid to make sustainable plan for future as well as attract large number of consumers.
An interactive planning helps in development as well as manufacturing process of
services and products for particular market by travel sector to attain objectives.
It aids tourism firm to manage security and also safety in proper manner in Qatar.
