SWOT analysis is an essential tool which St. Jude children hospital can use to do a
situational analysis for the hospital .This is because it analyses the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats which St. Jude children hospital is facing in the current business
environment (Garala, 2012). SWOT analysis is a complex process and calls for effective
coordination of the various departments in the company. SWOT dramatically assists in
analyzing the in internal strategic factors which are strengths and weaknesses and the external
strategic factors which are threats and opportunities. The strengths assist the organization by
protecting the market share and also venturing into new markets. The strengths of this
hospital include its reliable suppliers, strong free cash flow, a good track record; it has
celebrities as their spokesperson and lastly is that the hospital has a significant social media
presence.
Weaknesses of St. Jude children hospital are areas in which the hospital can improve
to build on its strategic positioning and competitive advantage. One of the significant
weaknesses in this organization is that financial planning is not done with care. High
operating cost is also a significant weakness (Ginter, Duncan, & Swayne, 2013). There has
also been a decrease in donations to this hospital over the past years (Garala, 2012). There are
various opportunities attached to this hospital they include: many young people are looking
for organizations they can offer volunteer services, the target market is made up of a higher
median household income compared to the donor population (Ginter, Duncan, & Swayne,
2013). One of the major threats to this organization is that there are many other charity
organizations compared to some few donors.

Amazon.com Inc.'s is one of the leading organizations in the online retail industry.
The SWOT analysis is made up of internal strategic factors which are strengths and
weaknesses and the external strategic factors which are thought to be opportunities and
threats. The SWOT analysis in Amazon demonstrates the strengths the business uses to
handle its weaknesses and the threats so that it can be able to maximize benefits out of
exploiting opportunities (Norris, 2010). Various strengths have substantially supported the
Amazon.com in ensuring that it becomes the most notable organizations. These strengths
include high revenue in the industry, strong brand and a good product mix. The Swot
analyses indicate that the Amazon .com has the necessary strength which has enabled it to
maintain a good position in the market(Tobin, 2012). However, the company has some
weaknesses. One of the major flaw is that the company business model can easily be
imitated, it also has a limited mortar and brick presence and limited penetration in the
developing markets. Amazon has multiple opportunities which include (Tobin, 2012). Coming
up with various measures to reduce counterfeit sales, they also need to expand their mortar
and brick business Amazon also need to come up with means of reducing some counterfeit
products. The organization is also faced with some threats in the online industry (Norris,
2010). The following threats need to be addressed in the online industry. They include
massive competition with large firms, cybercrime, and imitation. The Amazon company has
what it takes to continue dominating in the e-commerce industry. However, the company
need to invest in developing countries which are thought to ensure a rapid economic growth
