Introduction:
A system can be defined as the forms of organized relationship between a certain
group of components that would be linked for achieving for achieving a common
purpose. The impact of system analysis and design can be thus defined as a process based
on identification of problems, organize facts, analyzing them and detailing the system.
This report would discuss the beneficial impacts that could be made by IS
analysts within any business. Business analysts who are responsible for preparing ideas
for organizations have a huge role in defining and listing the problems arising within a
system, preparing a plan that could help in mitigating the problems (Dennis, Wixom and
Tegarden 2015). After the application of the positive plans for mitigating problems, the
primary purpose would be meant to achieve the business benefits.
The primary purpose of work within this report would be focused over
understanding the present situations that are being executed at Mindy Hair and the certain
ways in which they could be further improved (Davis and Yen 2018). The report would
present a brief summary of the business, understand the challenges faced by them and the
ways in which they could be mitigated. The other sections in the report discusses the
project scope by defining the system functional and non-functional requirements. In the
later part, the descriptions of processes as well as data dictionary have also been analyzed
and discussed based on further understanding of the topic.

The Mindy Hair is a reputable name within business and primarily is based on
providing different hair related services and products. They have established their brand
by employing high class facilities and amenities for their customers (Hollnagel 2017).
They also seek better ways for understanding the concerns of customers in relation to
their hair care problems and suggesting them with better strategies in order to improve
their services.
Unlike other businesses, Mindy Hair is also affected by huge form of competition
from emerging and existing competitors. The vision established by Mindy Hair is focused
over becoming a leader within the international market based on making use of
technological services and improving the quality of outcomes expected by customers
(Romiszowski 2016). Hence, in order to improve the business situations, customer
information services have been planned to be implemented for providing increasing
revenue and market share.
Business Challenges and their Impacts
The business challenges are as following.
1. The business has a catalogue detailing the list of services offered by them.
However, in order to view the entire range of services, customers are not able
to view them from the present information system.
2. The current system does not provide an opportunity to customers for booking
their appointments. Customers have to phone the staff and look for
appointments from their preferred hair stylist. This proposes a challenge for

the salon’s to accommodate all customer requests together and manage their
bookings.
3. The employee payroll and income reports for the business are not automated
and hence are performed manually (Joyce and Paquin 2016). Hence, this can
pose a challenge for the business to record each details of employees in proper
manner
The impacts of the challenges for the overall business future development are:
1. The absence of an online catalogue could impact the customers as they would
have to visit the salon’s and gain an idea of the type of service being offered
and their pricing.
2. Without the presence of a customer information service, a challenge would be
faced by the staff within the company to manage the bookings for customers
and assigning them to their preferred hair stylist.
3. An improper process of maintaining the roster system in order to determine
the salary of employees could pose challenges for the staff.
Problems and Opportunities for the Business
Major issues are as following.
1. Customer appointment is booked using a manual process in which staffs are
contacted by customers. They ask specific details such as availability of their
preferred hair stylist and many others.
