Functional requirement of the Warehouse management system software:
There are certain warehouse management software which look alike to platform of
inventory management, but they are focused more over the logistical and physical aspect of
the warehouse management (Richards, 2017). The unique functional requirements of a
warehouse management system are listed below:
 Outbound operations
Outbound operations of a Warehouse Management System refers to the planning and
programming the strategy required in the system. The primary status of the outbound
operation is PLANNED. If the order is for the Warehouse Management System, the status is
changed to EXPECTED. The status of the WMS has to be OPEN for the order to get
activated and prepared to process.
 Inbound logistics
Manifestation of the tools for the vehicles and preparing the warehouse for the
incoming goods is one of the key job for the inbound logistics of the warehouse management
system of Auto parts.
Some of the key features of the operations can be listed as follows:
o Receiving
o Put away management
o Shipping notification in advance
o Scheduling the shipping time
