Ifconfig
Command’s name: “ifconfig”
Purpose: it is used to display current network configuration information such as host IP address,
Ethernet hardware address, Subnet-Mask, Broadcast address, collisions etc.
Usage: “ifconfig –a”
Example of the command:
Ping
Command’s name: “ping [host address]”
Purpose: it helps the IP-Level connectivity, whenever troubleshooting source to destination
connectivity.
Usage: “ping 192.168.1.45”
