Introduction:
For the organization REVISORIX is working in the accounting and data visualization sectors.
The designer is given the system requirement. The designer is suggested to use apple product in
the organization. But the apple products can be costly for the organization. So the better and
suitable system requirement is given in this report that must specify as per the employee
requirement to fulfill the business needs. The system should be divided into three categories
designer, accountant & administrative person. The first problem is if all three people should use
same system in organization then it can increase the cost. So keeping the eye on budget the cost
is minimized that is described in this report. The second problem is that the organization should
currently run the windows and they know what OS is used in business organization. So in the
context of business the organization should use the windows because the organization should
require a skilled person to use a Linux OS that is not being feasible for all organization. So this
problem is solved in this report. The third problem is the company used the commercial product
in the system. So it may increase the cost of system. The product and software tools are
suggested that either they use open source or not is used in the organization. What person should
use commercial product or where they go for the open source is discussed in this report. The
report should discuss what best operating system for the business organization is. Like in
traditional accounting system the cash are counted by the machine. With the coming of digital
market the accounting system should be more secure and require the efficient hardware and
software. In this report the OS roles and the functionality of the OS is defined. In the same
system both the types of system are booted or not is discussed. Mouse, Keyboard, monitor, etc.

are the components through which the user should interact with the system. The best suited OS
for the target system is windows. The administrative system should use the Linux OS so they can
control and monitor the all system in the organization efficiently. In the accounting firm if the
system wants to upgrade in future then rather than the purchase the organization should use the
cloud platform. In this report the total budget is 80000 NOK and it should not be exceed in the
requirement given below. The total budget for the all system is around 35000-40000 NOK which
is almost to half the total budget. So the given requirement is satisfied in the accounting firm.

Main Body: REVISORIX wants to purchase new systems for the designers, accountants &
administrative persons for the organization that works in the accounting and data visualization
firm. In the budget, the requirement for hardware and software is described below. In accounting
systems, the hardware is very important for calculations or counting of cash. In traditional times
the hardware like machines for cash counting, chequebooks, etc. are used but now all thing is
changed digitally. So the hardware is very much accurate which should support & handle the
software and provide the efficient environment for the user.
Hardware includes the interacting key components of the system through which user use the
system. Mouse, Motherboard, disk drive, display monitor, memory modules, keyboard. In the
company, the 2 designer wants the highly efficient system for the design purpose. In the
REVISORIX the designer wants the system that is more secure and has the better performance
than the accountant and the administrative system. The system software requirement should
include 4 parts the operating system, antivirus which secure the system for designer, office is
used for generating the reports by the designer in the organization & sublime used to write the
codes. The designer should use the open source software for coding like sublime but the antivirus
that is used should be of licensed version.

The hardware requirement of the designer is very high in which the designer should use the
efficient system which has a high performance. So the designing is done better. The latest
processor of high-speed CPU is used which have at least 100 GB of space and the cards of video
and audio are present, the GPU of Intel is used. The designer should use closed source OS like
licensed windows for the security. The designer should purchase the licensed version for both the
systems. The windows are purchased for both the systems.

The accountant should not require the higher configuration tools for software. The adobe reader,

Windows V/S Linux OS in business:
Choosing an OS is not an easy task but it mainly depends on what application or platform that is
actually run with the particular OS. The windows and Linux is important and mainly used
operating system in the business. Much functionality is defined by the OS but the major goal of
OS is to provide the environment interface in between the hardware and the user. The functions
that provide the OS are:
 Storage management
 Process management
 OS behaves as an extended machine in which many operations perform at same time
 Input-output device management
 CPU management
 Resource management
The roles of OS are:
 It should hide the hardware complexities with the user.
 Without knowing the user handles the interrupt
 Performance is not degraded even at high load

Windows: In market, 75% of the share of OS is for windows, the product of Microsoft is the best
option for most of the business. In Microsoft server the option of OS that is currently available is
windows server 2008 & 2012. The cost is also the important factor if the older version of
windows is selected then it should not get the latest updates and this creates the danger to the
hardware and software to fail. So the latest version of windows is purchased. One of the major
factor that should know that the server OS is that how much longer it should use. One drawback
of windows is that it should purchase if all the benefits are taken.
Functionalities of windows are:
 In windows, according to the choice, the colour scheme is changed.
 Windows support every type of device support in the system.

Linux: One advantage of using the Linux in business is it should be open source and according to
the need anyone can download, re-distribute & also modify. Linux is just a kernel it does not a
complete set of OS it should need the software additionally. The flavours of Linux include
several types like red hat, Ubuntu, & SUSE. The OS of Linux is fastest in the business world
with high performance and security features. To operate the Linux OS in business the person
should have the more skills then the windows if without skills it will be costly for the business.
So in the business, if the skilled team which as the good command on shell then it is available
then Linux is the best choice for them.
Functionalities of Linux are:
 In this, the code is written for the colour scheme of OS and the appearance is unique from
everyone in this.
 In this with the administration password for making changes the codes are rewritten for
that to gain access so it is secure.
 Linux doesn’t allow supporting the large set of devices but downloading later.
In the business the open source software’s sometimes may cost the business very high. The open
source is available in market for only the learning and education purpose. So the business
organization is to be shifted now on the closed source software. Some organization like Red Hat
should structure like that it should look like a vendor for proprietary software’s. In the business
organization both the OS are install simultaneously on the single system. With the dual booting
on the same system, it can be possible to do. It can be safe for booting the both OS in one
system. It should provide the convenience in switching the software. Linux is customized easily.
It is beneficial in the business for testing the project that is built to run on cross platforms.
In accounting firm of RIVISORIX the security and performance is major things. So the windows
and Mac is best suited for this. But a window is low cost then Mac. So the windows are suited
best because they provide the Microsoft office 365 which is the Microsoft product. So in office
the reports, sheets are prepared. In windows, any required software tools for data visualization or
for accounting firm are installed easily.

Conclusion:
In this report the system specification is developed that should minimize the estimated cost for system
that is given by the designer. In this report the organization REVISORIX works in the accounting and
the data visualization firm. So the efficiency and performance is the major concern. The budget
is given for the system in organization that is 80000 NOK. Under this budget the all three group
of designer, accountant and the administrative should give the specified solution that are very
much efficient and also provide the security. The operating system that is used in the business
needs should understand. The windows and the Linux OS are described with the roles and
responsibility of the system. Every group of organization should divide system specification in
two parts hardware and software specification. The description of what group should use which
type of OS are understand in this report. This report gives the overview that at what place the
organization should stick to the commercial product like security they have to purchase official
licensed OS and the antivirus but the designer should either purchase the software tool for coding
which is either free or they have to purchase. This report also explains the best suited OS for the
organization which is windows. Windows are provided the latest updates of security and the
software tools. Hacking of windows is not much easy as compare to older version of windows.
What are the market share of OS are discussed and what are the key components of hardware
through which the interaction is possible are discussed in this report. The report should come
with the various problems that are facing when the requirement are met. The first problem is cost
is reduced so for all three group I have develop a separate system requirement to fulfill the
business needs. In second problem the organization know that what version of windows that is
best suited. So the solution of this is describing in report that the window is used by most of the
organization because it use the easy and flexible environment to adapt and use the system easily.
The third problem is what product and tools is taken into use the commercial one or the open
source. The key finding for this is it depends on the area of work. Like in administrative person
the open source Linux OS is used that will manage the all groups in the organization efficiently.
The report should describe the specification and the best suited system specification under the
budget.
