System Software - Components and Maintenance

This article discusses the various components of system software such as mobile devices, processors, RAM, hard drives, optical drives, video and audio cards. 1) Mobile devices are a computing device that small enough to operate and hold in the hand.
Currently we provide three types of mobile devices which are widely popular (Life hacker,
2018).
a) Android smartphones: This type of smartphones utilizes android operating system to
provide most effective customizable services. Manufactures: Samsung, LG, Google
b) IOS devices: this devices are operated utilizing IOS operating system which provides best
performance and services. Manufacture: Apple
c) Tablet: Tablets are portable personal computer typically comes with mobile computer
system and LCD display screen. Manufacture: Apple, Samsung
2) Processors: can be define as logic circuitry that process basic instruction to operate a
computer. AMD and Intel are the primary manufacturer of the processors.

3) RAM: stand for random access memory used to store information of certain running
application.
a) Type: there is mainly two type of RAM which are widely used as static RAM (SRAM)
and dynamic RAM (DRAM) (Life hacker, 2018).
b) Ram is used to store memory which are utilized by processors to complete tasks faster. If
user want to work on heavy applications or multiple applications at a time, he or she must
need minimum of 8 GB DDR3 (Tanenbaum, 2016). For general uses such as web
browsing and running lightweight applications 4 GB would work fine. The total amount
of RAM a system can support also depends on the motherboard and processor.
4) Hard drives: are used to store files, applications and many more. It is act as a physical
memory which can be utilized by user.

5) Optical drives: are used to read and write data from optical disks through laser beaming
technology. This type of drive allows users to retrieve, edit and delete the contents from
optical disks.

6. Video and audio cards: video cards are connected with motherboard to generate output of
images. Generally, the monitors are connected through the video card of the computer to produce
image output. Audio cards are also connected with motherboard in order to produce sound
through an external audio devices such as speakers.
7. Maintaining System: For effectively maintain the system, continuous monitoring is necessary.
A anti malware or Antivirus application can be useful to prevent virus and malware attacks your
computer. Tips for maintaining computer:
 Cleaning dust from your computer (cleaning tools can be useful such as portable vacumn,
cotton swabs)
 Clean up OS and software (Razer cortex: game Booster, IObit Advanced system care )
 Update everything
