INTRODUCTION
Successful management business project refers to a document which is prepared in a
formal way defining directions of a project to be done. It blueprints projects goal, budget, scope,
expected time and date of delivery, etc. successful plan is one which achieves projects goals in a
victorious way. A business project plan is one which is made before giving it a real picture and is
approved by various stakeholders of company. The term Talent Management is a process which

plans to retain employees who bears high quality service, develops skills, and motivates
regularly in order to improve work performance at workplace (Bjorvatn and Wald, 2018). In the
present report ASOS Plc is taken for research for which aims and objectives are made. Secondly
in the report management plan is being made which includes various aspects such as scope, cost,
quality, time, risk, resources and communications. Further work breakdown structure and Gantt
chart is made which covers stages and timeline for the completion of research. Primary and
secondary data are collected to meet projects objectives and interpretation is being carried along
with some recommendations are made.
TASK
P1: Devise project aims and objectives for a chosen scenario.
Talent Management is a strategy of business which is adopted by various organizations to
retain, develop, and motivate the skills of company's employees who bring quality of high level
in their work. It encompass several responsibilities which needs to be fulfilled by Human
resource of the organisation. Proper management of employee's talent helps company to enhance
performance of its workforce which assists business in gaining competitive advantage over
rivals. Companies applies a talent management process into picture which starts from planning
followed by attracting, selecting, developing, retaining and ends at transitioning (Blaikie, 2018).
ASOS Plc is an acronym for “As Seen On Screen” which is a online business company
which is based on United Kingdom. The business deals in online selling of cosmetic and fashion
products on retail basis. The main customer segment for company is young adults. Business has
its own brands and also sells products of approx 850 brands. ASOS Plc is a multinational
company which supplies its products to more than 196 countries. Company's HR consultants has
hired a researcher to analyse the rationale behind talent management and what kind of finest
strategics can be adopted by company to attract and retain its employees. The major area of
concern behind this research is to resolve various issues emerging in talent management. The
aims and objectives of the concerned research is mentioned below:

To study the impact of Talent management on employees performance.
OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH:

 To identify the development of employees by implication of talent management To identify the barriers of talent management which brings hurdles in employees
performance.

Project Management refers to a document which is prepared in a formal way defining
directions of a project to be done. It blueprints projects goal, budget, scope, expected time and
date of delivery, etc. to give a right path for project. The plan helps in sharing project's necessary
information and other details which are required to consider by the related persons (Eriksson,
Larsson and Pesämaa, 2017). There are several components which are involved in research that
is adopted by ASOS Plc talent management plan such as cost, scope, time, quality,
communication, risk and resources. Each component is discussed below in detail:
 Cost: It is something which is a mandatory requirement in performing any task or
research. Cost is a sum of all expenses calculated in monetary terms which will be
incurred during research. To have a successful and efficient research few expenses are
required to meet by researcher in this context which is considered as cost or research
(Heldman, 2018). An estimation of expenses or cost which will be incurred in the process
is approx £950 which will assist researcher to fulfil his task timely with availability of
enough fund.

 Scope: The present research posses a large scope which will provide various solutions
and outcomes for ASOS Plc to resolve issues related to talent management of the
company. This will also suggest best fit strategy which should be adopted by firm in
having a successful employee's management. Other then these it will assist in measuring
and managing employees performance and enhancing their work efficiency (Kerzner,
2018).
 Time: It includes a timeline within which research will be taken place by researcher. To
have a successful quality research researcher will need a time of approx 12 weeks which
is going to commence from March 01 2021 and ends at 23rd May 2021. The researcher
has managed its time in a way within which all the tasks related to research will be
efficiently done (Kurniawan, 2018).
 Quality: This includes quality of data which is to be used by a researcher in order to
fulfil requirements of research. To achieve research target it is to be required by a
research to indulge both primary and secondary type of data into research to have quality
data in it which can be done by doing qualitative and quantitative analysis both. This will
act as a suitable recommendation to a business which will help them to solve various
issues pertaining to talent management (Maxwell, 2019).
 Communication: It refers to an interaction between two or more persons in order to have
some discussion or to reach on some conclusion. This comprises of medium of
interaction which a researcher will use in order to have adequate findings for the work.
Effective communication brings adequate outcomes for research which gives a fair
representation of topic and matter of concern (McCall, 2018). Medium such as telephonic

conversations, video conferencing, personal interview, one to one interaction, etc. will be
considered by a research to fulfil the objectives of present research.
 Risk: Risk is a possibility of hurdle which is present in every aspect in some manner so
the research is also backed by some risk (Merriam and Grenier, 2019). The risk factors
which are involved in this research is like non completion of task on time, risk in
reliability of collected data, privacy loss of respondents information, etc. The presence of
risk sometimes does not brings efficiency in results of research.
 Resources: This comprises of required resources which will be needed in successful
completion of research. Few resources such as company's assets, human resource, capital,
technology, etc. are necessary requirement in this present research to give a successful
representation of report. Proper use of resources in efficient manner helps researcher to
fulfil the objectives and targets of concern research (Silvius and et.al., 2017).

Work Breakdown Structure of Research:
This is a form of project management which assists in breaking of complete task in
narrow parts which can be easily manageable by a researcher in successful completion of whole
research. Every part is allotted with required budget and time in a way which segregated a whole
task into small parts (Silvius, 2017).
The structure is being developed to have a clear understanding of research's scope. The
structure is hierarchical in nature which describes the whole work which needs to be done for
complete research. A breakdown structure of present research which is to be done by a
concerned researcher is mentioned below:

Gantt Chart of Research:
Gantt chart is a graphical representation of activities and tasks related with a research
which is required to be completed in a specific time. The chart breaks task and represents in a
visual form in chart to have easy and clear understanding (Solymosi and Bowers, 2018).
The tool is a popular in research and is important in managing project which helps in
scheduling and planning all forms of projects. Inside the tool timeline of project along with tasks
which are transformed in bar chart of horizontal form. The tool depicts research commencing
date along with finishing date supported by work needs to be done at each step by name of task
owner. The chart develops a dependency and relation among different tasks in order to have a
steady progress of research in easy way.

Research Methodology is a technique which is applied in a sequential process to measure,
operation, selection and analysis of required information or data for a particular matter. In order

to run a research, applying some methodology is a mandatory requirement and is one which
supports research with a authentic validity and reliability. In organizing a proper research it is
required by a researcher to apply qualitative and quantitative both forms of analysis for primary
and secondary collection of required data.
 Qualitative research: The research includes gathering and analysing of non
mathematical data which is applied to have a crystal understanding of topic, perception
and circumstances. The research supports in collecting necessary required information
needed for getting deep insight of the issue in order to have new suggestions. This
qualitative research is being done by the application of both primary and secondary data.
Qualitative research presents its analysis in open ended form via conversational
interaction (Sriram, 2017).
 Quantitative research: It refers to a set procedure of collecting and analysing
mathematical figures which is applied to have patterns of data and their average. The
quantitative research also assists in getting some assumptions and generalising the
outcomes of a large population. In this type of research, researcher carries an option of
having telephonic conversations, video conferencing, one to one interview or doing
survey which can be done either by adopting primary or secondary data (Stanitsas,
Kirytopoulos and Leopoulos, 2020). The research is presented in statistics or tabular
form, by having numerical figures in research. Observation, solving case studies,
performing ethnographic research, etc. are majorly dine under this category.
Collection of Data: Data collection is a process of assembling required information on
set variables in a sequential manner. It is the most important part of whole research upon which
the findings and results are depended. It generally tests various hypothesis, has questions related
to research topic and evaluates the outcomes in an adequate way. Researcher can collect his data
for research either by having telephonic interaction, video calling, personal interview, or can by
in any manner (Trinh, 2018). Data can be collected by adopting nay of the two or both forms that
is primary and secondary which is explained below:
 Primary collection of Data: The data collected under this category is fresh and first
hand. Such data is being gathered straightforward from the source instead of having any
existing data. The data is treated as original which is personally gathered by researcher

himself for the purpose of accomplishment of research's objectives and aims. Collection
of primary data is time taking and is costly affair as this involves researcher's personal
time and expenses (Willig, 2017). In present research, a researcher is required to gather
data by preparing a questionnaire comprising of several different questions related to
research topic.
 Secondary collection of Data: The term refers to gathering of such data which is in
existence by the contribution of some another person. In this a researcher takes use of
available data from past which enhances effectiveness of research. This is known as used
data or second hand data (Wrench, 2017). It includes data collection from journals,
books, articles, website, etc. In present research, the researcher is required to apply data
too, in order to accomplish research's objectives and fulfils requirement.
Sampling: The term refers to a statistical analysis of previously analysed data collected
from huge population. It refers to a club of person that are taken out of huge population for
collection of data. In present research, a researcher is considering 20 respondents from available
population who are workforce from ASOS Plc. They are considered for analysis of their
perception and experience in relation to talent management concept. Sampling is very effective
as it convenient according to time and involves less cost.

Literature Review:
According to (Butler and et.al., 2020), A term Talent Management is refereed as a
strategic concept which assists organisation in acquired right talent and enhance their potential to
achieve business goals.
According to (Corti, 2018), talent management employee development is found in their
performances and potential which they uses in their work. It also brings great results and a level
of satisfaction in engagement of employees.
According to (de and et.al., 2020), there are some barriers which can bring conflicts in
working and can cost huge to the company while applying various strategies. These barriers also
brings inefficiency and hides employees talents in organisation. Barriers sometimes acts as a
factor of demotivation.

Interpretation: From the analysis of data it is being interpreted that from 20 respondents

finds that retaining employees is beneficial whereas 6 agrees for enhancing employees employers

that company should develop positive working environment as a way to enhance strategies for

ASOS Plc?
Ans. Out of the responses gathered from 20 respondents of ASOS Plc it is being interpreted that
company can be most benefited from retention of employees who posses high quality of
efficiency in their work and by providing them opportunity of development. This retention helps
company to reduce employees turnover and have experienced talent in the organisation which
will increase productivity in employees performance.
Q9) What role Human resource Department plays in talent management?
Ans. From the responses received from 20 respondents it is analysed that Human Resource
should keep motivating its employees to indulge effective talents of workforce into work. It is
categorised as main role needs to be performed by HR manager. Another role which should be
played by Human Resource is, providing recognition and rewards for work done by company's

employees which will encourage their potential and skills. This will assist company in retaining
high quality workforce in organisation.
Q10) Suggest some ways by applying which business can have employees with their highest
potential?
Ans. From the respective findings, it is analysed that ASOS Plc provides constant appreciation
and rewards to its employees in order to attract them to work for their company. This attraction
allows them to feel motivated and boosts up their morale. ASOS Plc should develop few policies
which will be effective in order to have highest potential in its employees which brings success
and growth for the company.
P6: Communicate appropriate recommendations as a result of findings and data analysis to draw
valid and meaningful conclusions.
After having detailed and deep analysis for the research, it is analysed from data
collection that talent management posses critical concern within the company which creates an
effect on employees productivity of business. It is very important for ASOS Plc to acquire such
strategy which is suitable for managing company's talent which will have employees of high
quality competency. It is recommended to ASOS Plc after proper analysis that:
 ASOS should work upon providing regular training and development to company's
employees which enhances workers performance leads to increased productivity in work.
 There should be an effective interaction or communication method within the
organisation which promotes engagement of company's employees. This helps firms
workforce to discuss their problems and issues to have best fit in organisation.
 The company should employ on creating policies which should be enough effective in
order to motivate company's employees which will feel them to work for organisation for
longer period. This helps ASOS Plc in retaining its employees.

P7: Reflect on the value of undertaking the project to meet stated objectives and own learning
and performance.
From the successful completion of present research, I feel very happy and enthusiastic in
having a great opportunity for improving my knowledge, skills and learnings. During the process

of research I analysed that I have employed my interaction skills which assists me in collecting
required data in order to have fair and accurate findings or results. In my research I have strongly
accomplished research's aim and objectives through gather of primary and secondary data or
information which brings some outcomes. However I experienced few issues while gathering
data and information for this research to make it a successful project. Hindrances such as
employees delay in giving responses because they were hesitating in sharing their views. I
overcame this issue with the proper application of my persuasive power which made company's
employees comfortable in giving responses in form of their experiences and opinions to the
questions asked from them. The present research assists me in acquiring various skills such as
solving problems, taking effective decisions, drawing proper conclusions by analysing each and
every corner of concept and many more. During the course of present research I came to know
that my biggest strength is my communication or interaction skills which I can use to make
things more easy. The application of my skills in this research helped me to polish them more
and bring more efficiency in it. From the present research I also enhanced my time management
skills through completion of research on specific time allotted to me. The activities or skills used
by me in successful completion of this research is contributing a lot in the development or my
professional career and adds up to my characters or identity.
CONCLUSION
From the present research it can be concluded that talent management is a very important
aspect which needs to be concentrated by organisations. It is a set procedure for acquiring and
retaining high quality of workforce in company to have better efficiency and increased
productivity in workings. There is a document which lists out all the detailed information
regarding a specific project which needs to be successfully carried out by competent personal in
organisation and is called as project management plan. There are certain major elements such as
cost, time, risk, resources, etc. which contributes a project for its successful completion. The two
common structure such as Work Breakdown and Gantt chart is one which diversifies a whole
task into parts that becomes easy to achieve effectively. It can also be concluded that for a
successful research application of both qualitative and quantitative research via primary and
secondary mode of collection of data is very helpful and brings accurate results. From the

analysis, company is required to manage its employee's talents in order to retain them for a
longer period of time in their company. Hence, talent management is a matter of concern for
ASOS Plc so that it can achieve its targets effectively and efficiently.
