Talent management is defined as essential topics in Human resources as it supports to
bring the skilled and talented people who can accept the challenges and works effectively. This is
the process of identifying, attracting and retaining the staff by managing all functions as well as
activities. Different policies in relation to compensation and benefits are formulating by human
resources that can help to satisfied the people and retain them for long period. The major
components are involved in talent management are scope of HR process, attract, develop,
motivation and retaining employees. The purpose of research is to know about talent
management and its impact on role of HR that might be support to increase the performance. For
understanding this, researcher has prepared some objectives and questions that helps to
accomplish research aims. After this, literature review has been stated by responding the
questions properly. The research also covers methodology by considering positivism philosophy,
deductive approach, and quantitative research. The discussion being completed by interpreting
primary and then conclusion as well as recommendation were given to organisation for
completing research.

Introduction/ background to the research area
For each organisation it is require to have good understanding and knowledge about
recruitment process and make efforts to get right people. In organisation human resource is
playing a vital role as it identify the vacant position,understand goals and select the right people
who can work by accepting the changes. The purpose of talent management is to increase the
business performance by deciding goals and engaging the people that can help to make better
activities. Different roles and responsibilities are handling by human resource as it brings
changes in policies and retaining the talent management (Crane and Hartwell, 2019). This
impacts positively as increasing production, building confidence, accepting challenges and
managing the organisational performance effectively. Morrisons is chosen organisation for
current research as human resource of such organisation provide different benefits to employees
and motivating them properly. The company founded in 1899 by William Morrison for providing
variety of products and services that increases business performance. To understanding role of
human resource by focusing on talent management investigator has conducted the research will
help to gain insights that how to manage business activities.

The main reason of conducing the research is to explore the roles and responsibilities of
Human resources in an organisation and how talent management impacts on roles. This is
beneficial research as it increase the understanding in academic and practical way. By
conducting this research, investigator will enhance their knowledge in the area of talent
management and how human resources recruits the skilled as well as experienced people that can
help to increase the business performance. To develop the employees skills and retaining the
talent at workplace such research will supports to manage all functions and activities as it
motivate the people to work effectively. Therefore, research has been conducted that would help
to develop understanding and managing all activities in relation to research (Cascio and Aguinis,
2018).

organisation that is uses by management in order to getting the work done and managing the
higher profitability. The aim of business is to analysis the market and provides different benefits
to employees who can help to increase the performance and productivity. The concept of talent
management involves different activities such as planning, attracting, selecting, developing,
retaining and transitioning that can help to enhance the business. In relation to Morrisons, talent
management activities are using by management by deciding goals and recruiting the people who
are enough skilled and talented that can help to increase the business performance.
According to view point of Taylor (2018), Human resource management is needed at
every place as it identify the vacancy, give job advertisement, recruiting and selecting the people

that ready to work in organisation. Without, HR it may be difficult for organisation to motivate
and retain employees who are working as they get dissatisfaction and make decision to switch.
Having human resource in organisation grows the business activity, placing right people at right

filling their needs and completing the project timely. In relation to Morrisons, Human resource is
running their business by engaging all employees in task and getting the work done properly
which helps to attain the business goals. The management should have proper knowledge and

managing the higher performance. This can help to develop the business performance and
productivity by getting the work done and filling all requirements.

important for each organization to understand what their employees wants and how they can be
satisfied in the changing environment. Talent management has been described as anticipating the
corporation's human capital needs and making plans to meet those needs. Due to talent
management different challenges are facing by Morrison that is as defined:
Emergence of society and economy knowledge - Knowledge is the main source of
economic life and growth. This states not only leaders have important knowledge but also
employees should have knowledge of talent management. Due to this reason, Morrisons is
shifting downward in selling their products and services in the retailing sector.
Changes of employment relation - This is another issues which is facing by employees
and Morrison due to talent management while running a business. As now a days employees are
demanding challenging work and substantive rewards and opportunities to grow and learn. When
employer does not introduce new challenges and change in their working then employees feel
bored make decision to leave.
Company is facing globalisation – It has seen that world is becoming more international and it
influence the way the business is conducted. The success of any business depends on quality of
top talent and skilled which might be difficult for management of Morrison to find out the
employees and run business (Sheehan, Grant and Garavan, 2018).
High employee turnover – Due to lack of motivation and talent management, employee
turnover of Morrison is increasing as employer unable to fill the demand of their customers and
affected the organizational profitability. This creates the problems in running business.
Changing in organization culture – In an organization number of employees are
working collectively who belongs to different culture so it may be difficult for organisation to
getting the work done from all staff as they feels stress due to language and cultural barriers.
Thus, sales and productivity of Morrisons could be affected negatively and it create the problems
in running the business.
