TOPIC: What talent management strategies do best companies use to attract and retain
people
Introduction
Talent management refers to utilizing the manpower of business efficiently. It is a wide
term that comprises different aspects of HRM. It involves various activities from recruitment to
selection to training and retaining the employees for longer duration (Anlesinya and Amponsah-
Tawiah, 2020). For the current project Morrison’s is taken into consideration that is a
prestigious retail organization of UK. The study will include project management plan, primary
and secondary research, findings, performance review and more.
Research Aim: “To identify the strategies of talent management strategies adopted by the
companies to attract & retain employees.” A study on Morrison.
Research objectives:
To acknowledge the concept of talent management.
To identify the strategies adopted by Morrisons for retaining the talented workforce.
To evaluate the challenges faced by Morrisons during retention of work force
Research Questions:
What is the concept of talent management?
What are the strategies adopted by Morrisons for retaining the talented workforce?
What are the challenges faced by Morrisons during retention of work force?
STEP -1 Project management plan
It is a document that is formulated by the researcher in order to undertake the research
work in a systematic way. The different elements of project management plan are mentioned
below:
Cost: This element is associated with the expenditure that will incur during the entire
project. There is requirement of 600 euro to complete the existing project.

Scope: In the current study, there is scope to formulate appropriate talent management
strategies to hire, motivate as well as retain talented people in the organization (Kerzner, 2018).
Time: It is associated with the time that is available to complete the entire project. While
undertaking a project, it is crucial for the researcher to determine the time schedule so that the
project can be completed without any delay. For the existing project there will be requirement of
2 months to complete it efficiently.
Quality: During a project, it is imperative to maintain the quality of outputs and results.
In this context, the investigator needs to collect data from reliable sources for drawing
meaningful conclusion (Rowe, 2020).
Resources: In project work, there is requirement of several resources and equipments
which can be further used for the purpose of data analysis and interpretation.
Risk: There is significant amount of risk is associated with a project. Due to the dynamic
nature of business environment, it is imperative to identify and address the risk in appropriate
way (Khomyakov, Mirgalimova and Sillitti, 2020).
Work breakdown structure
It is a widely used tool of project management wherein the entire project is divided into
smaller components. In this, the entire project is classified in manageable components so that the
complexity can be reduced at minimum level. It helps in defining the roles & responsibilities of
each and every member in completion of project work (Butler, Vijayasarathy and Roberts, 2020).
Under this tool, the activities are divided into smaller parts and the roles & responsibilities are
assigned to different individuals so that they accomplish the project work in timely manner.
