Task 2 – Final Project Planning
Reasons for Project Selection
The project is selected as it will automate the data handling and processing mechanisms with
the aid of the database system.
Project Feasibility
The project is feasible from the technical and operational aspects as the system modules are
realistic in terms of the design & development. The system development can be done as per
the requirements. The project is also feasible from the economic aspects as the budget to
accomplish the project is available.
SDLC Variant & Project Plan
The use of agile SCRUM methodology will be used in this project so that the flexibility and
scalability of the project is always maintained (Kalyani and Mehta, 2019).
The project plan is to carry out the development work in a series of sprints and manage the
entire project is a series of phases as plan, execute, control, and close.
Resources/Stakeholders Involved
The resources involved will be the Project Manager, System Developer, Database Engineer,
and System Tester.
The stakeholders will be the project management and team, course guide, and expert panel.
Project Coordination & Management
The project coordination and management will be done as per the steps listed in the PMBoK
methodology. The guidelines of this methodology will be used to control and streamline the
project processes and activities.
Minimization of Project Risks
The risk management will also be done as per the PMBoK guidelines. The identification of
the risks will be done in the feasibility determination activity along with the project planning
phase (Nasir et al., 2015).
The risks identified will then be mitigated and the steps to avoid the risks will be taken as per
the risk score.
Task 3 - Requirement Analysis
Questionnaire
What are the system constraints that will be applicable on the database system that is
to be developed?

What are the expected numbers of users that will access the system?
What are the existing technical tools with which the system needs to be synced or
integrated with?
What are the operating systems that will be involved in the system implementation
phase?
Is there a database system pre-installed?
Task 6 - System Proposal
Summary
The project is to design a database system for the master course and the use of SQL will be
done as a practical tool for the system. There are a number of queries that the system shall be
able to resolve in terms of student grading, lecturer mapping, and course management.
System Request
The system shall be developed as per the agile SCRUM methodology and managed using the
PMBoK guidelines. The use of SQL shall be done as the practical tool for the project.
Work Plan – Gantt chart
The executions of the entire project for the development of the database system will not be
possible to be done in one go. There will be certain phases that will be involved. The duration
of the entire project is estimated to be 89 days with five different phases involved (Ong,
Wang, and Zainon, 2016). The agile methods will be integrated in these phases so that the
end-result is flexible and scalable.
The work breakdown structure and the Gantt chart are plotted below.

Automating Data Handling and Processing with Database System - Project Planning, Feasibility, and Requirements Analysis_3

Feasibility Analysis
The technical, operational, and economic feasibility of the project is determined on the basis
of the project business case. The project will be feasible in all of these three aspects as the
technical requirements will be integrated, operational specifications will be met, and the
expenses will be covered.
Requirements Definition
The users as the student, managing staff, and the teaching staff shall be able to log in
to the system.
The student shall be able to enrol in a particular unit.
The student/managing staff shall be able to register themselves in a unit.
The managing staff shall be able to schedule a unit.
The teaching staff shall be able to generate class and mark the student grades as pass
or fail on the basis of the student performance and results.
Use Cases
There are three types of users that will be involved in the project as student, teaching staff,
and managing staff.
The user cases for these three user types are listed and described below:
Enrol in Unit: The actors involved in the use case will be the student and the system.
The student shall be able to enrol in the particular unit as per the choice and
availability (Bhuiyan, 2018).
