1TEACHING AND EDUCATION
Teaching is one of the noblest professions in the world. This is because of the reason that
teachers are provided with the responsibility of imparting education to their students. These
students can be from different social cultures or backgrounds. Despite the background or the
nature of the students, their right to education should not be hampered. They all have the right to
getting new and better informed knowledge on all sorts of topics which might help them in their
life experiences. Ideally any teacher should not differentiate his or her students based on their
cultural backgrounds, their capabilities and their overall situation from which they hail.
Diversity is basically the concept that encompasses numerous characteristics which
include the socio-economic background, ethnicity, special needs, gender and also the concept of
their giftedness. It is being seen that at present, the classrooms are being filled with a variety of
students, with cultural backgrounds which are different, multilingual students and those students
with disabilities. The teachers need to meet the needs of all the students effectively so that they
can form a perfect classroom together (Lewis, Wheeler and Carter 2017).
Inclusive education is also an important concept in this particular regard. This is
supposed to mean that all the students attend and they are allowed in the local schools in age
appropriate regular classes, are supported to learn, contribute and also participate in all aspects of
the life of the school. Inclusive education is basically the development and the design of our
schools, classrooms, programs and activities so that the students can learn and participate
together. This helps in the support of diverse communities, helps in the development of
individual strengths and gifts, at also helps in the high and appropriate expectations of these
children. They need to work on the individual goals at the time of participation in the classroom
and the personality traits which they wish to enjoy (Banks and Banks 2010).
