To formulate a teaching plan for addressing the physical,
psychological, social, cultural, developmental, and spiritual
goals of the patient

Physical assessment
Some of the major risk factors that contribute to
the condition commonly include being
overweight, family history, absence of regular
exercise, sedentary lifestyle, and race/ethnicity
(Powers et al., 2017)
With an increase in blood glucose levels,
symptoms similar to increase in urination,
increase in thirst, abdominal pain, and weight
loss might occur.

Physical assessment
The metabolic syndrome can be effectively controlled or
prevented by an improvement in nutrition, reducing body
weight, and participating in moderate physical activities
Administration of oral medication like metformin and in
severe conditions, insulin injection also form an essential part
of diabetes management (Chrvala, Sherr & Lipman, 2016)
Regular check of blood sugar, and appropriate foot care is
necessary.
